P-A-R-T-Y!!

Mom & Dad were right!! Today was a FUN day!! In fact, it was down right full of FUN! I got to see so many family and friends, and of course, I was oh-so-popular today! I got to work the crowd and spend time with just about everyone.

Of course, Mom took tons of pictures of the day, but she said she was too tired to put them all up tonight. So here are some highlights....of me, of course!!
My new baseball!! My Grandpa brought it for me, and since my Uncle Gary & Aunt Jane brought me a glove, I figure I am all ready to start practicing tomorrow! Thanks Grandpa, Uncle Gary, and Aunt Jane!!
You know what I learned about a lot of fun? It makes you really tired! By the end of the day, I was whipped like cream! I took a snooze with my Uncle George.
I am one lucky boy because I have a lot of great people in my life who love me. Thanks everyone for coming over to our house and playing with me!

Let the Festivities Begin!

Boy, oh boy!! The fun has finally started!! After a whole week of sitting around watching Mom and Dad work, the weekend of fun they promised is finally here! Of course, Mom and Dad were still working hard, but I didn't have to sit around and watch anymore. I had plenty of folks around to keep me company!

First, Shannon & Sadie Peters came over to hang out and help out. Then, my Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary pulled in. Everyone was pitching in to help get ready for tomorrow's big party. Uncle Gary hung out with me the most. We were on the swing, and walking around...I even helped him run his yard sale out front! Then, our friends Steve and his daughter, Sydney stopped by. Sydney and Aunt Jane both fed me dinner while Mom and Dad ran out to get all the food for tomorrow. When Billy & Joni from Corning Catering stopped by to drop off tables, I was right out there to see them and give lots of smiles and even a few giggles.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any more fun, Uncle George & Aunt Lu Lu pulled in with thier big camper. Cousins Karlie & Jenna were with them. I only got to spend a little time with them though, because Mom said I had to get to bed, but she promised that tomorrow I would have lots more time to see them. She also said that if I thought today was fun, just wait until tomorrow. She said even more friends and family are coming over to our house for a BIG picnic!! I can't wait!!

Here is a photo with me and one of my most loyal blog viewers...my Aunt Lu Lu!! She checks my blog everyday and leaves lots of comments for Mommy and I to read together. Look, we even matched!!

Hangin' with Aunt Amy

Well, today didn't seem too much different than every other day this week with Mom & Dad both working hard around the house and yard to get ready for the weekend festivities....expect today I had someone to play with me! My Aunt Amy! She is actually my mom's cousin, but they are like sisters, so she that makes her my aunt. She came down from Rochester this morning to keep an eye on me for the day. I was on my best behavior all day!

So tomorrow starts the weekend festivities around here. I can't wait for the fun to begin!! Oh, and about pictures...Mom was too busy today to catch any good ones, but I know for sure there will be lots of pictures to share over the weekend!

Feelin' HOT, HOT, HOT!

Mom had a dentist appointment this morning so she took me along. I wasn't having any fun sitting and watching her get her teeth cleaned, so the ladies out front entertained me while Mom finished up. I like meeting new people and these ladies just thought I was the cutest thing ever!

I also went with Mom today to pick out flowers, and WOO-WEE...it was hot! I was sweating just sitting there. I made a new friend with one of the ladies at the nursery. She kept stopping to see me every time she walked by. I seem to have a real way with the ladies!!

Things finally cooled down later in the afternoon when we had a thunderstorm. My doggy, Delia doesn't like the loud thunder, but it doesn't bother me. Once it cooled off, I was finally able to settle down for a good nap. When I woke up, Mom was at the store, so Daddy fixed and fed me my dinner. He is way more fun than Mom because he cheers me through every bite!

I have been hearing that everyone's favorite part of my blog is pictures, so I am going to bug Mom to try and take some every day. I promise to have some new ones tomorrow!!

New Hoop

Guess what we bought today?!! A new basketball hoop! I know I am not quite old enough to play it yet, but I am excited that someday Dad will be able to show me how to play in our own backyard. We were just going shopping at Sam's to get stuff for the party this weekend, and Dad wanted to go by Dick's (again!) to look at the same basketball system (again!) and this time Mom convinced him to go ahead and buy it.

When we got back from all that shopping, I took a long nap. It was so hot in our house! I was sweating in my sleep! Mom finally came in to wake me up around 5:30 so I wouldn't miss dinner. I ate that cereal right up! It wasn't long before it was time to get washed up and go to bed. Boy, the days do go quick sometimes.

Work, then Play

Mom and I spent almost the whole day outside. First was work! Mom worked on finishing up the weeding around the pool so Dad could finish moving the mulch when he got home. I hung out in my stroller in the shade until she finished up. Boy I am glad that mulch is all gone! Mom & Dad have been working on that for weeks! Then it was time for play! We spent a good part of the day by the pool enjoying the sunny day! It was so warm that Mom let me hang out in my birthday suit. It felt so good not to have a big diaper on and just be free!! I eventually fell asleep by the pool while Mom got some sun. Mom said it is important to reward yourself with some fun....once you chores are done!

Sleepy Boy

You know what I did most of today? Sleep! I don't know why I was so tired, but I just felt like napping the day away. I woke up around 7 AM, about my usually time. Mom and Dad brought me into their room to talk and play a little. It wasn't long before I fell back to sleep in their bed. Mom went back to sleep with me. I woke up again around 9:30 and Mom fed me...and I fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 11 AM! You would think I was a teenager or something!!

Mom and Dad were doing some stuff outside, and they were carting me from here to there as they worked on different things. We all came in for lunch and to relax for a while. Around 2:30, I fell back asleep...and I kept sleeping and sleeping. Mom came in to wake me up around 5 PM. She said she was worried that if I kept sleeping I wouldn't sleep through the night. Plus it was time for dinner.

After that it was back outside for some more chores. This time Mom put my play mat out so I could play while she worked to clean the pool. We came back in around 6:30 PM and Mom fed me...and I fell back to sleep! This time I slept right in Mom's arms which was sooo comfy! It doesn't seem that Mom gets to hold me much while I sleep since usually that is when she gets things done around the house, so Dad made dinner and let Mom and I enjoy the moment together.

After all that sleeping, I still went to bed around my normal time. Mom did let me stay up a little later, but by 9 PM, I was sound asleep. It was just one of those lazy Sundays!

Supervisor

I woke up at my normal time this morning, around 7:30 AM. My Dad came in to get me and guess who else was there? My Grandma Peterson! She came to visit last night, but I didn't get to spend much time with her before I went to bed, so we spent to morning together catching up.

Later in the morning, Grandma and Mom got started on cleaning out the garage. Dad was working on the yard. Apparently it is all in preparation for this party Mom and Dad have every year around the 4th of July. This will be my first year at the party, so I am excited to experience all the fun!

Since I couldn't really help with the moving and cleaning, I decided to supervise the job. From my stroller, I was able to keep an eye on Mom and Grandma to make sure they kept on task and a fussed a little every now and again so they wouldn't forget I was keeping tabs. They did a fine job and it looked much better when they were finished!

Once that was done, Grandma, Mom and I went to visit my good friend, Tully Dane Fratarcangelo. His parents, Ed & Sarah are good friends of my Mom and Dad. Tully is 6 weeks now, so we are just under 3 month apart in age. It seems like a lot now, but as we get older 3 months will be like nothing and we will be able to do all sorts of things together.

Give Me Five!

So these pictures aren't from today, but they are so cute, I had to share! I love to suck on my fingers. It is my newest thing now that I have started teething.

Sometimes I like just two fingers...
Sometimes I try to fit in more... Sometimes I like my right hand, other times my left...
Sometimes I pack them all in...
Sometimes I just can't decide!

Grandma's Birthday Dinner

Mom, Dad and I went to Hornell this afternoon to celebrate my Grandma Peters birthday. First, we picked her up and went to look at ranges at Sears for her gift. Then we went to Club 57 for dinner. I ate dinner too! A big portion of rice cereal! My Grandma fed me and I ate it right up!

Then I got fussy though, so Mom took me outside while Dad and Grandma finished eating. After a big burp, I got in a better mood, so Mom decided to walk me over the the karate dojo that Dad goes to. It was right next door! They were so happy to see me and couldn't believe what a big growing boy I was. I seem to be surprising everyone lately!

It was great to see Grandma tonight. She had me laughing playing peek-a-boo with me when we got back to her house! See my big smiles!

Party Animal

Hello loyal fans! It is Tyrus again. I am sure you were all hoping for a new photo, but Mom's been slacking on the photo-taking lately. I'll bug her about it and makes sure she takes some tomorrow.

Before I report on my day, I want to wish two special people a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My Grandma Betsy and my Aunt Amy. Both of them had a birthday today!

My day started with some yardwork outside with Mom. She is still working away at the pile of mulch on the driveway. She's made it about 3/4 of the way around the pool and keeps working away. The pile is still pretty big though, and she thinks she is going to get it all moved before our picnic next weekend. I'm just not so sure!

Just watching her shoveling all the mulch made me tired, so I took a monster nap this afternoon. Mom had been waiting for me to wake up, so as soon as I did, she wisked me off. We went back to the station today, this time to take Dad's truck for an oil change. Then we stopped at Wegman's. Dad was home when we got back. I'm always so glad to see him!

We didn't stay home long though. Our friends, Tim & Tonia had some folks over to eat venison and hang out. There was lots of loud talking and laughter, but I don't mind that much. I guess I am used to it living with my Dad. He is always loud! Actually, I was the life of the party for a while, talking to different folks, laughing and squealing. I dozed off for awhile while Mom and Dad visited, so we ended up staying past my bedtime. I guess I'm a regular ol' party animal!!

Yo Me Llamo Tyrus!

Nothing too exciting to report today...just another day of running errands with Mom. We did go over to visit Billy at Corning Catering to plan the menu for the 4th of July picnic. He was a funny guy! We also stopped at the station so Mom could get the oil changed in the car. They couldn't believe how big I was getting!!

Dad was home early again today! We went out for Mexican food, and took the dogs for a walk around Corning. Boy was it HOT!!

I did discover something kind of fun today...I can grab a hold of my feet! I thought my hands were fun to play with! I can't wait to see how fun playing with my feet can be!!

Monday Madness

Last night was a rough night...my second in a row. Usually I go right to sleep when Mom and Dad put me to bed around 8 PM and I don't wake up until between 5 or 6 AM. However, last night, I woke up twice in the night just wailing. With a little comforting, I would go back to sleep, but it left Mom and Dad a little ragged this morning. Dad had to get up and go to work, but Mom and I slept in a little.

Mom was checking my mouth out figuring that my overnight fussiness was probably due to teething and found a small bump on the inside of my bottom lip. It wasn't bothering me or anything, but she did call Dr. Alexander, and he wanted to take a look at it. So, off we went to the doctor's office. Luckily, the doctor said it was nothing to worry about.

When Dad got home from work, Mom and Dad decided to take a swim in the pool. It was too cold for me. Dad tried to put my feet in and I just cried. I'm sure it won't be long before I am begging them to go in the pool all the time!

A True Father's Day

What a big day today was!! First off, it was Father's Day...my Dad's first! A whole day to celebrate what a great dad he is!! He really is great too! He loves to make me smile, especially in the mornings when I just wake up. He carries me all around, swings with me outside, and sometimes we just relax together in our chair. I know when I get bigger, we will be able to do even more fun things together.

It was also a special day between me and my Heavenly Father. Today was my dedication at church, where my parents stood in front of the everyone and committed to raising me to know God and to live by the teachings of the Bible. This is really important to Mom & Dad. They see it as their most important jobs as parents. Here is a picture of us all today...
To celebrate the special day, we had a little brunch picnic here at our house. Our families came to be with us to celebrate both the dedication and Father's Day. We had many fathers present to celebrate....

Uncle Gary, Grandpa Peterson, Dad, Me, Grandpa Peters, Uncle George, Cohen, Uncle Joe

What a great day! It was a lot of activity though and it really tired me out. I was hanging out on the hammock with my Uncle Gary and I just couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.

A Day with Dad

Hi, this is Tyrus again. The most amazing thing happened today. I woke up this morning and Dad was home. Not only that, but he actually stayed home and spent the day with Mommy and me. First we all laid in bed and I told Dad all about my dreams and I gave him big smiles to show him how happy I was that he was there.

Then we all went for a ride to look at some trailers, I guess we have a bunch of stuff to haul around. It wasn't too interesting so I just sat in the car and waited. After that I made my first appearance at Home Depot. It was exciting, but I had to spend the whole time convincing Mom and Dad not to spend my whole college fund. Sometimes they get a little carried away in there.

Once we got home Mom fed me and then went out to run some errands. She had to pick up a bunch of food for all of my family coming over tomorrow. I tried to convince her that seeing me was enough to keep them occupied, but she felt she had to buy some food too. I was OK with her leaving though because that meant I got to hang outside with Dad. We did all sorts of chores, but the best was talking to our neighbor Russ.

The first half of the day was exhausting, so I spent the afternoon napping on and off. I woke up long enough to try eating from a spoon again. It's really a piece of cake, but every once in a while I'll drool a little to make it look good. I think I'm just making it too easy on Mom and Dad and they will be in for a rude awakening when my brothers and sisters come some day.

Big Eater!!

I hit a major milestone today…my first try at eating foods! Mom has been providing me with some good nutrition so far, but it was fun to try something new…a little rice cereal mixed with breast milk. Mom and Dad said I come from a long line of eaters, so I took to it quite naturally. It only took a few spoonfuls to get the gist of this eating bit, where I was getting more in my belly than down my shirt and opening up for the spoon as it came towards my mouth. Mom said there are more flavors to come…I can’t wait!!

Here are just a few of the many photos taken in this 1o minute experience!!

Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Hi Loyal Fans! At least I hope people are reading this! Leave me a comment every once in a while so I know whose checking my blog out!
What a beautiful day it was!! Mid-70s, blue skies, puffy clouds! Mom and I went out to do some errands this afternoon and decided to surprise Daddy with a visit at work and a chocolate milkshake. He's been working a lot these last few months, so I like to go in and give him some smiles to brighten his day. I hung out with Dad at work for about an hour while Mom went to get a pedicure.
When we got back home, Mom and I went over to visit our neighbors, Russ and Helen Scudder. They are really nice folks and get a huge kick out of seeing how much I am growing. That was enough to tire me out, so next up was a nap in my favorite spot...my swing. Mom snap some photos and you can see from the last photos of me sleeping in my swing, just how much I have grown!!

Ready, Set...

Dad, Mom and I went shopping today for all my new eating supplies! Can you believe it is that time already? I know it seems like I just got here, but it is time for me to start on solid foods. I got a new highchairs, along with bowls and spoons. First will be rice cereal and vegetable baby food, then I’ll get the sweeter fruits. We haven’t quite decided when my first go at this eating business will be, but probably sometime before the weekend is out. We are just waiting for a good night when Dad is home so we can experience it as a family. I’m sure I will be quite a sight, so pictures will be coming soon!

My Great-Grandpa Young

I spent most of today at my Great-Grandparent's place on Lake Demmon. I love to go over there and see Grandma & Grandpa Young. Grandpa Young is one of my favorite people to see. I just light up when I see him (I think it is mutual!). He is usually the first one to scoop me up when I arrive. We will sit together and talk. He has the best stories! With Father's Day coming up this weekend, I have been thinking of just how lucky I am to have a Great-Grandpa around to love me so much. My Dad says he was the best kind of grandpa to have...teaching him how to hunt and fish. I think he is the best kind of Great-Grandpa too!

There were lots of other people I love with me today, Mom and Dad, Great-Grandma Young, Grandma Peters, Aunt Michelle and Cohen. It was one of the random weekdays that everyone happens to get together and it ends of being super special!

Home Sweet Home

Today Mom and I spent the day at home. We went outside first thing this morning...I hung out in my carrier, while Mom ran around doing yardwork. That was enough work to tired us both out, so we came in around lunchtime to eat and take a nap. Then the rest of the day we just relaxed together, playing with my toys and enjoying the beautiful day.

It was a nice day at home after doing a lot of traveling last week. I am having more fun playing with my toys now that I am reaching out for stuff. I even grabbed for the phone today when she was talking Auntie Michelle.

Tomorrow, Mom, Dad and I are going to "The Lake", which is my Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young's summer cottage. Grandma Peters, Aunt Michelle and Cousin Cohen will all be there! It should be lots of fun. I'll make sure Mom takes pictures!

Cool by the Pool

Today we had a little pool party at my house. Aunt Shannon, Sadie, Aunt Wendy, Uncle Donny, Nicole, Grandma Peterson, Sarah, Karlie, and Jenna all came over this afternoon and we hung out by the pool. Mom picked me up these new shades and this new "Surfer Boy" outfit was from Uncle George and Aunt Laurie...all in all, I was looking cool by the pool.

Actually this picture was taken on the hammock. It was my first time on our hammock and it was lots of fun to swing back and forth. Very relaxing!

Hunk-a-Hunk of Burning Love

I was burning alright today...but unfortunately with a little fever. Probably a side effect to my vaccinations yesterday. I was still in good spirits though, just a little sleepy for most of the day. I took a long nap this morning, which let Mom and Dad get some good hours of yard work done. In the afternoon, I went to the Heiczyk's (family friends) house in Middlesex, NY. I had fun meeting new friends!

Here's My Latest Stats

I went to the doctor's today for my 4 Month appointment and my new measurements are in...

Weight - 15 lbs. 3 oz. (75th percentile)
Length - 25 1/2 inches (75th percentile)
Head - 44 1/2 cm. (90th percentile)

What does this mean? I am a growing boy with a big head!

I also had to get 4 vaccination today...not fun, but I am a little trooper so I only cried for a moment.

After my doctor's appointment, I hung around the house with Mom and Dad. Then I went to my Grandpa Peters' house. He showed me all the plants in his garden and we watched the Mets game.

All in all, a good day!

First Posting at 4 Months & 1 Day Old

With everyone's interest in how I am doing and what I am up to these days, I decided that my own blog might be a fun way for everyone to keep tabs on me. For those of my loved ones who don't know what a blog is, a blog is just a website where people will post messages and pictures, kind of like an online diary. Plus, those that view the blog can also post messages on the site. Kinda cool, huh?! Do you think I am the youngest blogger on the Internet?!

So, the first 4 months and 1 day of life have been good. It has been quite a week already. Mom and Dad took me to Alexandria Bay this week on their little 3rd anniversary getaway. It was a long car ride, but I don't mind the car much. I just watch the dogs in the back, suck on my hands, or sleep. I was really well-behaved for the trip, you know, so that Mom & Dad could enjoy themselves. We took a boat ride over to Boldt Castle on Heart Island. This was my first boat ride!

Yesterday, I played in my Baby Einstein Activity Jumper for the first time. I'm not quite strong enough to sit up by myself yet, but Mom propped me up with a blanket. It was fun, at least for about 10 minutes.
As for today, I ran errands with Mom and hung out with her outside while she spread mulch. Tomorrow I am off to the doctor's, so make sure to check out my next posting to see how big I am getting!
