The Big Move

Well, I am just totally exhausted and so is about everyone I know...Mom, Dad, Grandma Peterson, Uncle George, Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary. These were just a few of the helpers that helped this weekend with "The Big Move"! Grandma made the move down to our neck of the woods this weekend. We thought she was going to stay with us for a while, but that isn't how things worked out. Instead, my Mom happened to go see an apartment on Saturday morning that she just knew Grandma would love, so she had Grandma stop on her way down. Well, Grandma did love it and we rerouted the moving truck and all our movers to Campbell, NY. That is the next town up from where we live in Painted Post. Her new apartment is only 5 miles from our house and has lots of room for me to play and for visitors to come see Grandma. I haven't been there yet myself. I played with Sydney and Josh while the move was going on. They are the kids of Steve and Dave, two of Daddy's friends, who along with Uncle Tim helped to move Grandma. Thanks to everyone for the help!! I am so excited that Grandma is moved and I can't wait for her to make the final transition once she finishes work this week! Hurry back Grammy!

I didn't get to put any post up this week because we were all so busy getting ready for the move. Mom and Dad were doing lots of organizing and cleaning around the house to make room for Grandma. Even though Grandma isn't going to be coming to stay, it sure feels good to have a lot of our spring cleaning out of the way. On top of that, Mom and I came down with a cold this week, so when we did have a few minutes, you would find us resting.

Today was a nice change of pace from last week. We went to church early and spent most of the rest of the day at home, minus a small family trip down to the local hardware store. I took a long nap this morning since I was still tired from all the activities on Saturday. Tonight, Dad and I relaxed in the rocker while watching the Opening Day game of Major League Baseball. Dad is excited to teach me new things during this year's season. My favorite word lately is "ball" which I say almost constantly since you will usually find me with a ball in my hands. I have been fascinated with them every since I can remember. Dad is really working on me to say "Go Mets" to be ready for tomorrow night's game.

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter Everyone!! Today was a fun day for me! Mom, Dad, Grandma Peterson and I all went to church this morning. I love Sundays because I go to the nursery while everyone else goes to the service. It is lots of fun to see and play with other kids. As soon as Mom or Dad set me down, I am off to play with a toy, never worried about them leaving. I know they'll be back. After church, we came home and had a great brunch. Grandma fed me lots of strawberries and blueberries that were soooo yummy! (They made quite a mess of my diaper later, but luckily Grandma was still around to take care of that too.) I took a long nap after we ate and when I woke up, I played with Daddy while Mom and Grandma were working on a wonderful Easter meal. My favorite part of the meal....the ice cream cake we had for dessert!

I loved having Grandma here for the weekend and can't wait until she moves down here for good. Only 1 more week until she moves all her stuff and she will be coming the following weekend to stay with us. I went looking at some apartments with Grandma this weekend. None were just right yet, but that is okay, because I am looking forward to her staying here for a while. Mom's belly is getting so big that it is harder and harder for her to get down on the floor to play, or even get out of the house and tote me around. I know having Grandma here will be a huge help for Mom. And she is lots of fun for me! On Saturday, Grandma took me outside so I could try out my new shoes and get some fresh air.

Mom and I actually went for a visit to Rochester at the end of last week. We went on Thursday afternoon and surprised Grandma at work. We thought it would be a good chance for her to show me off to her coworkers one last time. After that, Mom and I went to a March Madness event that her former employer, Foster & Wager was having. I got to see all the folks Mom used to work with again. They couldn't believe how much I had grown, especially since I was walking around checking everyone out and having fun with all the basketball decorations around the room. We spent the night at Grandma's house and got to see Uncle George, Jenna, Brooke and Angelo who all stopped over to see me.

On Friday, Mom went for a pedicure while I stayed at Uncle George and Aunt Lou Lou's house. My cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were all home from school so I got lots of playtime with them. Mom took me to the mall when she got back and we did some shopping. I got fitted for my first pair of walking shoes at Stride Rite. They are way cool!! Now I can walk everywhere...inside, outside! I am always on the go!

March Madness

Sorry it has been over a week since I put up a new post. Things are really busy around here lately. Dad is working a lot and Mom is busy with errands and some projects around the house. We are all getting ready to have Grandma Peterson come stay with us when she retires at the end of the month. Plus, we have to get ready for my little brother or sister! Mom is only 5 weeks away from her due date.

So, what has been going on? Well, let's see....

My favorite new thing is the be let loose out of the livingroom to roam the house. I like to pick up all the doggie toy balls and carry them around. My doggies, Delia and Blossom are really gentle with me and I can manuever around them pretty good myself. Here is a picture with me and Delia.

I also like to wrestle with Elmo. If anyone says, "Elmo's gonna get you!" then I will go find him and tackle him to the ground.

I got my first haircut on Friday with Mom. She forgot to bring her camera for the actual event, but as you might guess, I am one handsome dude! Mom thinks it makes me look more grown up. I was really good during the haircut. It was just hard for me to sit still when she wanted to use the clippers to cut the back of my hair because I wanted to turn around to see what that noise was.

On Saturday, Mom and I went to Dad's karate tournament. Dad doesn't compete anymore now that he is a black belt, but he judges the competition. I loved to watch Dad when he was in the ring judging. If we made eye contact, I would scream out "Daddy!" which would make lots of people around me laugh. You can see from this photo just how handsome I am with my new haircut.

The tournament was at Wayland Middle School. I loved the big hallways there because it gave me lots of room to explore and waddle around. I just love this walking business!! The world seems so much larger and more interesting!!
On Sunday, Grandma Peterson and Jenna came for a visit. I had so much fun with them! Jenna and I were playing hide and seek. She would hide and Mommy would say "Where's Jenna?". Pretty soon I was saying "Where's Jenna?" on my own and then Jenna would pop out of her hiding spot and I would laugh and laugh.

Weekend with Dad

I spent this past weekend with Dad. Mom went to Aunt Shannon's house for a scrapbooking weekend. She left on Friday afternoon, getting there just before the weather turned bad. Dad came home from work early. He immediately bundled me up and we went for a drive to Avoca to the accountant's office for Mom and Dad's taxes. When we got back, it had started to sleet and snow, so we got to spend lots of time inside playing. Dad got out these plastic tub of cars I had gotten for Christmas. I wasn't to interested in them then, but now they are my favorite toy! Now that I am getting good on my two feet, I walk them around and leave one in every seat in the livingroom, plus everywhere else I can set one.

We were suppose to go to Canisteo on Saturday to visit everyone, but because the weather was so bad, we stayed at home. In the afternoon, when it cleared up for a while, Dad took me out to Radio Shack and the Shoe store. It was fun shopping with him because he let me walk around in the store. I was chasing the shoe store lady around. She thought I was pretty cute.

Dad and I did get to go to Canisteo on Sunday. First we went to my Grandpa Peters's house. My cousin Cohen was staying there since my Aunt Michelle was also scrapbooking with my mom. Soon after we got there, Aunt Michelle showed up with Cooper. I got to play with my cousin's for a while. Then my Grandma Peters came over. She heard I was there and had to come see me.

After Dad fed me lunch, we went over to Aunt Shannon's to see the scrapbooking ladies. My mom was there, so was Grandma Peterson, Aunt Lou Lou and Aunt Kathy. Everyone was excited to see me walking around! It was lots of fun to see them too. And the fun didn't end there!! After that, Dad, Mom and I stopped over to Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young's house. They hadn't seen me walking yet either, so I got to show them all my new moves. By the time we left Canisteo and headed home, I was one tired boy!!

All in all, it was a great weekend with Dad!

On the Move!

Big event this week!! I am finally walking around on my own! Dad was playing with me on Sunday night and got me to walk across the livingroom if he kept his hands at my side without touching me. Now that it is Wednesday, I am walking around on my own more and more as I gain confidence. This is a great way to get around because I can carry a toy in each hand and really spread my toys out throughout the whole livingroom. Mom is thrilled!

On Monday, it was so warm that Dad came home for a while in the afternoon and took me outside in my new sled that I got from Uncle George & Aunt Laurie. He harnessed up the doggies and they dragged me around the yard. It was lots of fun to be outside. I got to crawl around a bit and immediately took off for the end of the driveway. I am ready to explore the world! I can't wait until warmer weather comes around so I can spend more and more time outside. Mom says it won't be long.

Speaking of Mom, her belly is getting really, really big!! She only has 7 weeks to go before her due date. I like to play peek-a-boo with the baby in her belly. I lift up her shirt and laugh because her belly looks so funny. Sometime I like to kiss her belly and point to it and say "Baby". I wonder if it will be a brother or sister? Not much longer and we will know!

Peek-A-Boo!

Over the weekend, I was playing pee-a-boo with my Dad. He had put me in his hamper where I could hide and then jump up to surprise him!

Now you see me!

Now you don't (at least I thought so)!

Here's a little video so you can fully appreciate it!

On Saturday, Daddy and I were watching the SU game together. I even wore my sweatshirt to show my team spirit. It didn't help them win though.
