Canisteo Sleep Over

Have you all missed me? Sorry I didn't get a blog posted in a few days, but you know, when you are a busy guy like me, it can be hard to keep up with everything.

Well, like I mentioned on Sunday, I was planning for a few days of fun. On Monday afternoon, Mom and I went back to Canisteo to Grandpa Peters' house and stayed the night. Aunt Michelle and Cohen were still there from the weekend. We waited for Grandpa to get home from playing golf and went to visit Great-Grandma Peters. Aunt Shannon and Sadie met us there and we all walked down to the ice cream shop. I had my first bit of ice cream and it was YUMMY! I guess I am going to love ice cream like my Daddy! The coolness felt so good on my gums because I am teething, but Mom wouldn't let me have a lot because she said I am too young just yet.
By the time we got back to Grandpa's, it was time for bed. Mom and I got to sleep in Daddy's room from when he was a boy. It was fun to sleep at Grandpa's and see Aunt Michelle and Cohen when I woke up. We all had some breakfast and headed back to Great-Grandpa & Grandma Youngs' cottage on the lake. We just call it "the lake". Aunt Michelle had bought Cohen and I matching outfits, which made a great photo opportunity.

I also went in the lake for the first time. It felt good on my feet, but I wasn't so sure when Mom put me in up to my waist, as you can see from the photo, but I eventually got used to it and was kicking and splashing in the water! We missed the photos of that though because the camera battery died!

Busy Weekend

Whoa!! What a busy weekend!! I was here and there and everywhere! On Saturday, I woke up and went for a walk with Dad and the doggies. I had just enough time when I got home to eat and change. Then Mom and I went to the Arts Festival in Corning with Aunt Shannon, Sarah and little Tully. We walked up and down the street seeing all sort of stuff. I was singing and yelling a lot so I caught a lot of attention from other folks around us. It was a beautiful day, so we stayed out, had lunch and didn't get back home until about 3 o'clock. By then, Dad was missing me a lot, so we hung out together and took a nap.

Today we went to Canisteo to celebrate my Grandpa Peters 60th birthday with Aunt Michelle, Uncle Joe, Cohen and Grandma Peters. His birthday is actually tomorrow and Mom said I will get to see him again because we are going over there to spend the night. I am not sure of all the plans, but I think there are some big ones in store for me over the next few days. I better rest up tonight and tomorrow so I will be ready. I'll make sure to tell you all sorts of stories when I can!!

The Best Medicine

Today I was playing upstairs with Mom, and I just couldn't seem to stop laughing. I was sitting up in my boppy pillow (it is good for strengthening the abs so someday I can sit on my own). Mom was handing me different toys to play with while watching some home improvement show (she loves those). All of a sudden, I just wanted to laugh, so I did. That sure got Mom's attention back and she spent the next 20 minutes or so doing all sorts of silly things to make me giggle. I just couldn't stop laughing! Everything seem to be funny! Mom would hide under the pillow and then jump out and say "Boo"....that was funny! Then I would play with my new stuffed otter and Mom would pull it out of my hands...that was funny! Laughing seems to be contagious because Mom couldn't stop laughing either. We were laughing so much that we decided to share the laughter by calling Grandma Peterson at work and she laughed right with us. Boy it feels good to laugh!

Jumping in the Grass

Today things seemed back to normal after being away from home for so long. Mom gave me something new for breakfast. I still had my old rice cereal, but then there was this new stuff that was dark purple called prunes. They had a strong flavor but they were good.

I have been spending more and more time in my jumper. My legs and torso are getting stronger every day so I can stay in there longer and jump and jump and jump!! Now Mom and Dad want to get me a jumper that hangs from the door so I can really get moving around. Plus, they have these things called walkers that supposedly let me cruise all around the house on my own! I am hoping they get me something like that too!

We had some friends over tonight. Some of the guys who hang out with Dad came over to play some basketball. Dad put my jumper in the yard and I was watching them play. I could jump better than some of them could :-)! It was cool to feel the tickly grass under my toes!

I'm Back!

Hello! I'm back from my camping trip! I had so much fun!!! Mom, Dad and I went up to my Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary's camp in Harrisville, NY. This is up northeast of Watertown, just outside the Adirondack Park. It was my longest trip away from home so far. We left on Friday morning and stayed until yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. I am a good traveler so I didn't mind the almost 5 hour drive and it was well worth all the fun we had!

Here is me with Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary

Here is their camp

There was lots of family around over the weekend. My Uncle George, Aunt LuLu, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were there with their camper. My Mom's cousin Tracy, her husband Steve and kids Rachael and Nicholas were there with their pop-up camper. Grandma Peterson came later in the day. Then Amanda, Scott and Amy came late on Friday night to camp out. Then, even Aunt Janice, Uncle Rich and my Great-Aunt Arlene came to visit on Saturday. We hung out, swam, ate, made bracelets, played games, ate some more, had a bonfire, scavenger hunt, went canoeing, fishing and four-wheeling. There was so many fun things to do!

Everyone left on Sunday, but Mom, Dad and I stayed for a couple of more days to enjoy and relax. On Monday, we took a trip into Tupper Lake to the Natural History of the Adirondacks Museum that opened up last year. It was really cool! My favorite part was the otter who was swimming all over his tank and seemed to like me a lot. He would swim right over to me!

Packing Up

Things have been in a bussle around here the last two days. I don't know exactly what is going on, but I think Mom and Dad are packing up for a trip. I heard something about Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary's camp and the Adirondacks. I don't know, but it sure sounds like the makings for some good ol' fun!

As far as I know, we are heading out in the morning, bright and early. That detail has seemed to change. First it was Saturday, then tonight, now it seems like probably in the morning. I know I'll be ready whenever we decide to go.

So I figure I may miss updating my blog for a few days while we are all away, but I promise to be back on Tuesday or Wednesday with some great new photos to share!

Have a great weekend!!

Bouncing is What Tiggers Do Best!!

I am Tyrus the Tigger, because I do what Tiggers do....bounce!! My legs have gotten long enough that I can bounce all around in my activity jumper! In fact, Daddy had to move it up a setting because my legs had grown so much. And just to think that a few weeks ago, I wasn't tall enough or strong enough to sit up in this by myself. I'm telling you....I am growing like a weed!

Family Fun at the Lake

Today was such a fun day! Mom, Dad and I were up early and out of the house by 7 AM. We drove into Canisteo for a Sunday morning visit at Uncle Dan, Aunt Sue, and Great-Grandma Peters house. Plus, Uncle Pete and Grandpa Peters were there and so was my second-cousin Peyton, who is 15 months old. She is quite a handful and was trying to get handfuls of me!

After that, we went to Grandpa Peters house, where I had breakfast and saw Aunt Michelle and Cohen. We didn't stay there long because we had to head to my Great-Grandparents' house on Lake Demmon...and boy, was there a crowd there!! It was like a whole side of my family tree! Let's see there was Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young, Grandma Betsy, Aunt Sharon, Billy, Kathy with their kids Kaitlin and Michael, Jim and Jeanine, Beth with the girls, Lea and Maria, Uncle Bob and Aunt Carol with their grandchildren Adam and Emily (who are visiting from Florida), Brett, plus Aunt Michelle, Cohen, Mom, Dad and me!!! It was like a family reunion and it was a lot of fun! My Dad said that he grew up at the Lake with his cousins, Billy, Jim and Beth, and it is so cool that now they all have kids and we all get to grow up together there too!

Late Night Show

Hi Friends and Family,

Sorry I missed last night, but Mom, Dad and I all went to the drive-in movie, so we got home really late. I didn't really watch the movies, because I was sleeping in my car seat. Mom had me bundled up in warm PJs and a blankie, and I just slept through it all.

So now I have two days worth of news! We had some visitors yesterday! Brooke and Angelo stopped by our house to see me. They were driving right through our neighborhood on their way back from Pennsylvania. They thought I looked just like Daddy, just like everyone else. Here is a photo of me with them and their dog, Gilmore. In the background you can see the new wall colors in our livingroom.

We were home much of today, besides a little trip with Mom and Dad down to the hardware store. They said they had all these little projects they wanted to finish up, but they didn't seem to do a whole lot, besides play with this new toy they bought for the TV called a Nintendo Wii. I am too young to play right now, but just watching them play is kind of entertaining!

On the Roll Again!

Now, not only can I roll from my front to my back, but today I rolled from back to front!! I am a big roller now! Mom and I were out hanging by the pool and I was playing on my beach towel while Mom was vacuuming the pool. I went to reach for my toy over by my head and next thing I knew...BAM! I was on my stomach! Of course, once I got myself there, I couldn't figure out how to get back. After a few minutes of trying, I alerted Mom with a cry and she came over to help me.

Once I figured that out, I didn't stay on my back for long. I kept trying it again and again. Only problem is that I never did figure out how to get back over. I'll keep trying though!!

All Done!

Mom finally finished the livingroom! I am so glad! I really didn't mind entertaining myself, because I have all sorts of things I do...play on my activity mat, jump around in my jumper, swing in my swing, plus I have lots of little toys I play with now that I have better control over my hands. It will be nice to get out a do some things though. Mom promised a day of fun tomorrow since I was such a good boy while she worked on the room.

I also had two meals today, breakfast and dinner. Usually I just eat in the evening, but apparently I am going to work up to 3 whole meals a day!! Mom gave me the same cereal for breakfast, but she had the new stuff too. She said they are called bananas. Seems like a funny word. I'm not totally sold on them. I like my green beans best so far.

New Job

Mom and I spent most of the day at home. Mom was working on painting the livingroom again. She painted the trim and said that a little touch-up tomorrow and she will be all done. It is about time! I will be glad to have the livingroom back so we can get my toys out again.

A friend of Mom's was in town tonight. Her name is Heather and she used to work with Mom. I didn't know Mom used to work? I am so glad she doesn't do that anymore and that she stays home with me. I guess I am her job now. Anyway, we all went to dinner and I entertained all the waitresses. By the time I got home, Daddy wanted to play a little and make me giggle, but I was way too tired and just wanted to go to sleep.

A/C Please!

There is only one word to describe today....HOT!! Mom and I finally decided to leave the house and visit Daddy at work just to get in some A/C. So, when we saw Daddy, we all jumped in the truck and headed to Lowe's to buy some new air conditioners.

Roll over #2 happened today! I am not a one-hit wonder! Speaking of hitting, I watched a little of the Homerun Derby with Dad before it was time to go to bed. Boy, can those guys hit! I hope I can hit a baseball like that someday!

Weekend of Rollers

This was a weekend of rollers for two reasons...number 1, Mom spent the whole weekend with a paint roller since she painted the entire livingroom, and number 2, because I finally ROLLED OVER!!!! Yep, I am a big roller now!

I spent most of the weekend with Dad since Mom was busy painting. We played together, napped together, took a walk together! He helped me with my bath and changed my diapers. Of course, I still got to see Mom ever now and again since she is my main food source, but she missed the big first roll. I was up with Daddy on the bed, playing with my toys and my toes (which is a new favorite activity of mine). He put me on my belly and I was pushing with my arms and all of a sudden...BAM!! I was on my back again!!

To all my loyal readers, sorry about missing my first day of blogging since I started. I was so tired last night from the day with Daddy that I totally forgot until this morning! I am sure it won't be the only one I miss, but I promise to keep everyone up-to-date, especially on big milestones like today's big rollover!!

Friendly Neighbors

I woke up to the sounds of hammering again this morning. Yep, our roofers were back, but they finished up today and now we have a brand new roof on the house. Mom and I wanted to get away from all the noise for a while so we took a walk down our road. We had two neighbors who were having garage sales, so Mom and I stopped by and introduced ourselves. I just love to meet new people!

I was home for most of the rest of the day. I like to play alot more now. I am getting stronger everyday and can now hold myself up well in my activity center. I just think it is so fun! My favorite is to whack the little green froggy with my hand and make it spin around.

I seem to be getting a lot of new hair lately! It is coming in much lighter than that dark, fuzzy hair I had when I was born. Looks like I am going to be blonde like my Dad!

Raise the Roof

I woke up this morning to a big ruckus! There was all sorts of banging and scrapping coming from the ceiling. It was quite puzzling, but I later learned that we were getting a new roof! There were these guys who were walking all around up on our roof! They were throwing stuff down and carrying stuff up. It sure looked like a lot of work.

Mom and I couldn't take all the noise so we retreated up to Ed & Sarah house. I got to see my friend Tully. He was sleeping when I got there, so I got to play with some of his toys. Here I am on his surf board. I am on my belly, which is unusual for me because I don't like to be that way. I am getting more and more used to it though, especially as I get stronger!

Oh, and guess what?!! I am 5 months old today! Dad weighed me this morning and I came in at 16 pounds! I have learned so much in 5 months! I can't wait to see what more I know 5 months from now!

Born in the USA

We spent our 4th of July at my Uncle Joe and Aunt Michelle's new house in Arcade, NY. We picked up Grandma Peters and Grandma Peterson in Hornell so they could drive out with us. They put on quite a show for me in the backseat! Those are two crazy grandmas! My Grandpa Lynn also came to spend the afternoon with us.

Even though it was rainy all day, we had tons of fun! We took advantage of a quick break in the rain to go for a walk down to the park near their house. I got to play with all my cousin Cohen's toys. My favorite was his new kitchen set. Don't I make quite a cute chef? The food was good, but the utensils were even better!

Back to the Old Routine

It was strange to wake up this morning and have no one else here but Mom. It was kind of nice though. I like the old routine we have. I woke up a little earlier this morning since I am finally catching up on sleep from the crazy weekend. I was up with Dad at 5:30 AM! I didn't stay up for long though. I laid in bed with Mom, got a little breakfast and went right back to sleep.

We thought some guys were coming to the house to work on our new roof today, but they only came for a few minutes and decided to come back tomorrow. We won't be here tomorrow though. Mom says it is a special holiday to celebrate our great country, the United States of America. Apparently we are going to see my Uncle Joe and Aunt Michelle's new house in Arcade, NY. Not only will my cousin Cohen be there, but my two Grandmas and my Grandpa Peters will be there too! It should be a good time!

Mom and I went out and had lunch with Daddy and his buddy Steve today. Then Mom dragged me around on a few errands. I didn't mind though. I love going places with her! She takes me everywhere she goes. I like being out and about and seeing all sorts of new people. They all sure seem to get a kick out of me!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Today officially marked the end of our weekend festivities when my Uncle George, Aunt Laurie and cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna left around 12:30 PM. It seem strangely quiet and a little lonely with everyone gone. I can't wait until next year!!

The weekend left Mom, Dad and I all very tired. I slept most of the afternoon. I woke up when Dad came home. He had to go back to work today. We watched some old epsiodes of Little Rascals, which is this show my Dad thinks is so funny. You should see him laugh when he watches it!! It is almost as funny as when I get laughing!

Mom tried to feed me this funny green stuff for dinner tonight. I have been liking the cereal she makes me, but I wasn't so sure about this green stuff. She said they are called peas. At first I thought they were okay and I took some mouthfuls with no problem. But after a while, I wasn't so sure. They make my mouth kind of pucker and my face shiver, so I just spit them out.

Mom was too tired to cook and already tired of the leftovers from the weekend, so we decide to go to Friendly's for dinner. Dad had this crazy trick!! He had these stick-like things on his plate and he would put them up to his mouth, and then...BAM...they were gone!! I just kept watching him go back and forth from his plate to his mouth. I still dont' know where they all went!

I learned one fun new thing this weekend. I would do this fake cough and everyone would laugh and give me more attention. I have been trying it out on Mom and Dad, and it worked for a while, but it seems to be losing its affect. I am going to have to come up with new moves to up my cuteness factor.

Fun-day Sunday

Today was like a mini-picnic!!! Not quite as many people as yesterday, but still as much fun! My Uncle George, Aunt Laurie, Grandma Peterson and cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna all stayed overnight in their RV, and my Uncle Gary and Aunt Jane stayed over in their Scamper (that is not misspelled...it the small camper!). So when I woke up this morning, everyone was up and waiting for me! I had my normal breakfast, but they all ate this big breakfast!! Then we hung out, relaxed and enjoyed the day together!

Even though there wasn't as many people, I still was in someone's arms all day long. I got to spend good quality time with everyone. Even Roger, Kathy, Kaitlyn and Kristen came back over today (they stay at the hotel down the road) and Aunt Shannon & Sadie came back over!! Like I said, it was a mini-party!

It was a lot cooler today so I had to stay bundled up. It was easy to stay warm with all the cuddles I got. I even hung out with all the girls on the hammock for a good photo opp!

Me, Karlie, Kristen, Sadie, Jenna, Sarah & Kaitlyn

It was hard to say good-bye to everyone! The weekend went so fast. Mom said that time usually flies when you are having fun! Somehow that doesn't seem fair.
