Visit to Canisteo

Mom and I took a trip into Canisteo today. We went later in the afternoon and visited Great-Grandma Peters for a while. It is always good to see her. She gets a kick out of how fast I am growing and all the talking I do. Today I was blowing a lot of raspberries so she could see me. Then we went over to Grandpa Peters house. I had some dinner and got to jump around in the jumper that is over there (it used to be my cousin Cohen's). I was laughing and making Mom and Grandpa laugh right with me.

After that, Mom and I went over to Aunt Shannon's house for a scrapbooking thing (you know...Mom is really into that stuff!) There were other ladies there and they just all thought I was the cutest. I think they are right!!

Updates from Tyrus

Hi Friends and Family!! Sorry for the lack of postings to my blog lately. Life gets busy as you get older and at 6 1/2 months, I am a boy on the go!! So, let me update you a little...

Last week was lots of fun with our trip to Strong and lots of visitors! Daddy stayed home from work on Thursday to be with Mom and me. I love when he stays home from work!! I got to spend even more time with him on Friday night, because Mom went to a scrapbooking thing with Aunt Shannon. It was just me and Dad for the night! Daddy fed me dinner, played with me, took me out to the creek, and put me to bed. I didn't mind Mom being gone at all!

This weekend, we went to see my Great-Grandpa Young who has been in the hospital all week. He was so glad to see me! Great-Grandma Young and Grandma Betsy were there too. After we visited for a while, we went back to Grandma Betsy's house for dinner and Grandpa Peters stopped over. I was so glad he did, because I had time to play with him and show him how much I am growing!

Sunday was a day at home because Mom wasn't feeling good. She is still fighting this cold from last week. She isn't as much fun when she is sick, but I do like that she curls up and takes naps with me.

Oooh! I also wanted to send out some "Happy Birthday" wishes to some folks I love who had some birthdays recently....
Happy Birthday Uncle George!! (42 on August 22nd)
Happy Birthday Uncle Pete!! (60-something on August 23rd)
Happy Birthday Chance!! (Turned 1 on August 24th)

Strong Museum of Play

On Tuesday, my Aunt Michelle and cousin Cohen came to stay with us for a few days. When they got here, we went out in the rain to meet Daddy for lunch, then stopped at Wegman's and finally made it home for a big family nap by early afternoon. It was so much fun to have them here to play with me. I especially liked it when Cohen would run into the couch. It was so funny that I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Cohen, Aunt Michelle and Me

On Wednesday, my Aunt Beth came from Scranton, PA with her two girls, Lea and Maria. We all went up to Rochester to the Strong National Museum of Play. And that is what we did!!! We played and played and played!! My favorite part was when I met the Cookie Monster and Elmo in the gift shop. They were playing peekaboo with me!

and Elmo!

Everyone came back to our house and we had a big sleepover, but they all had to go home this morning. I was sad to see everyone go, but the good thing was that Daddy stayed home with Mom and I so we could all enjoy the day together! We hung out at home just as our own little family.

Up to Camp

Woo-Wee!! What a weekend!! On Friday night, Mom, Dad and I loaded up the puppies and headed back up to my Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary's camp. Unfortunately they weren't there this weekend, but my Uncle George, Aunt Laurie, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were! We got there really late on Friday night, so the only one I saw was my Uncle George, but the next morning, everyone was there!! I like my cousins, because they like to hold me and feed me. My cousin Karlie will even change my dirty diapers!!

On Saturday I hung out at the camp a lot with my Aunt Lu Lu while Mom and Dad were out in the woods. I was having so much fun that I didn't want to take a nap and miss anything, but finally around 4 o'clock, Mom came back and we took a nap together. When I woke up, I had a good meal and then we all headed into the neigboring town of Harrisville to see a parade. It was their annual Community Fest. I love to watch cars and trucks go by, so this parade thing was right up my alley. We hung around after the parade until it got dark and then their were these loud "BOOMs" in the sky and it would light up with all sorts of colors!! My Dad says they are called fireworks! They were fun to watch, but a little loud for me...that was kind of scary.

We all loaded up in the truck again and headed out around 11 AM, the perfect time for a good nap. When I woke up, we were at my Uncle John and Aunt Christine's house! I got to see my cousins Tim, Sam and Sarah! Even my Grandma Peterson was there!! We had lunch and played for a while. It was a good break from the long drive home! I love that Mom and Dad are always taking me places. I really don't mind the long car rides and I get to see all sorts of cool things and lots of people who love me!

A Few Highlights

Sorry about my lack of post this week, but sometimes it just doesn't seem like there is much new news to share. I will at least touch on some highlights of the last couple of days....

Monday - Surprised Daddy with a visit at work and stole him away to go get an ice cream cone, then Mom took me to Sears for portraits. The ladies there were doing all sorts of crazy things and I kept giving them smiles!

Tuesday - Mom, Dad and I went to my friend Caleb's first birthday party. He got cake and presents! I can't wait for my first birthday!!

Wednesday - I've been trying out some new foods now...still baby food, but they are a little thicker and all sorts of new flavors. After dinner, Mom, Dad and I took a walk down on Market Street with the doggies. They always seem to attract more attention than me!

Grandma's Visit

How was your weekend? Mine was good! Grandma Peterson came to see me on Saturday. It was so good to see her. She is so funny and she just can't seem to stop laughing when she is with me. We spent the day together here at my house. We hung out by the pool with Mom and I played with my toys. I also got to play in my own little swimming pool with some cool froggies that Grandma got me. They would light up in the water. On Sunday, I hung out with Mom and Dad at home in the morning. Then we went to church, which was fun because they played lots of music and I just sang right along with everyone. The rest of the day I was home, enjoying my toys, napping, eating...you know, usually baby stuff.

What's New?

What's new with me? Well, yesterday night I took a walk in downtown Corning with Mom, Dad and the doggies. There were lots of people down there for Race Fever, whatever that is. Something to do with the NASCAR races in Watkins Glen. Anyhow, we took a nice walk around and Mom & Dad got ice cream. They didn't share any with me this time :-(!

Today, Dad took the day off from work and we spent the day with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Young at the lake. It was a cool day there so we were inside most of the time. I took my jumper with me to show them what a good bouncer I am. We stayed the whole day, and around dinner time, my Grandma Betsy came by to see me with her friend Jay. I sure love being the center of attention and I sure got plenty of it today!!

Couch Potato

Yesterday, I went over to hang out with my friend Tully. Mom takes me over there every once and a while to visit him and his Mom, Sarah. We usually hang out for the afternoon at their house. It always seems to rain when we are there...strange! They have this big, fluffy couch that I like because I can sit up all by myself. See!

Mom and I took lunch out to Dad today. We haven't been out to see him at work in a while, so it was fun to pop in and spend some time with him. Then we went over to Old Navy. Mom was looking for a new outfit for me, since she wants to take me to get photos taken this weekend. She is taking pictures of me all the time, but she says that she wants to get some professional portraits since I have hit my 6th month milestone.

Growing, Growing, Growing!!

Today I went to see Dr. Alexander for my six month appointment. I was a little leary of being there this time. In the past, it never bothered me much, but the last few times I have been there, I had to get shots. Unfortunately, today was no different. I had four shots in my legs, all vaccinations that are suppose to keep me from getting bad sicknesses. I know they are good for me, but they hurt!

The fun part about the doctor's appointments are seeing how much I have grown. Here are my latest stats along with my last measurements, so you can see just how much I am growing!

......................4 Months Old .........6 Months Old....... Percentile
Length ........ ....25 1/2 in. ................ 27 1/4 in............... 75th
Weight ...........15 lbs. 3 oz.............. 17 lbs. 8 oz.............. 68th
Head............ ...44 1/2 cm............... 45 1/2 cm............... 90th

Dr. Alexander said I am in perfect shape and a healthy, growing boy!

Fun with Friends

This morning I woke up early to our guests who drove in from Indiana. It was Rich, Deb, Trey and Kellie, Daddy's bestest friends from out in Indiana. They drove all through the night to come and visit us. Although they check out my blog, this was the first time they got to meet me and for me to meet them. We had a great day hanging out at the house and going down to Market Street for lunch. When we got home, we had this huge thunderstorm roll through. There was hail the size of nickels falling from the sky and the wind blew so hard it took down big branches from the maple trees out front. Then, we had a bunch of friends over for dinner. One of my bestest friends came by, Tully Dane!! His Mom and Dad (Ed & Sarah) brought him over. I was so happy to see him! He has grown so much in the last month. We are practically the same size and he is 3 months younger than me!
