Back from Rochester

Grandma Peterson, Mom, Theodore and I all went to Rochester on Wednesday to visit friends and family. This was Theodore's first trip up to Mom's hometown. We packed a lot into two days, which is normal for our trips there. There are just so many people we love to go see!!

First, we stopped at Rochester General Hospital where Grandma used to work. She got to see lots of her old coworkers and was really proud to show me and Theodore off to everyone. Then we headed over to Brooke & Angelo's house. Brookey is Mom's best friend from high school and her baby, Ava is just 10 days younger than Theodore. Ava was a premie, but she is growing fast. She is up over 8 lbs. now and is as cute as ever! Here is a picture of her with Grandma...

I was pretty tired by this time of the day, we went over to Uncle George and Aunt Laurie's house. We were staying the night in their camper right outside there house. Grandma and Mom set it up with my pack-n-play and some of my toys. It was like a home-away-from-home! I got to play a little with Jenna, Karlie and Aunt Lou Lou before it was time to lay down and try to get some rest.

I didn't rest long though, because around 5:30 PM, Brooke and Angelo came over with Ava so everyone could see her. By then, everyone included Uncle George, Amanda and Amy. Then we all split up...Grandma went with Uncle George, Aunt Laurie and the girls to Sarah's 8th grade promotion ceremony. I went with Mom, Amy, Amanda and Brooke out to dinner at Carraba's. We were celebrating my Aunt Amy's 30th birthday which was last Friday. I had a lot of fun at dinner sitting next to Amy.
When we got back to the house, it was time to get ready for bed. Mom gave me a little mini-bath in Aunt Lou Lou's bathroom sink. When they got home, I was just finishing up with my bath and broke loose from the bathroom totally naked. I was running around the house screaming because I was so excited everyone was back. They all thought I was pretty funny running around in my birthday suit!!

It was fun waking up there and going inside to see everyone. I got to see Uncle George before he left for work and help him with some chores, like taking out the garbage. I spent most of the morning wearing out my cousins who took turns watching me. Mom, Theodore and I left for a little while to go to Foster & Wager and visit Mom's old coworkers, but we were back in time for lunch and a quick catnap, and even a little more time to play with everyone before it was time to head home. I had lots of fun with everyone!

Theodore had lots of fun too! He really likes to watch everyone now and smiles a lot more. He even laughed for the first time on Monday. He first laughed at Mommy when she was making noises for him, and then let out another giggle for Daddy at dinner that night. Of course, we haven't been able to make him laugh since, but we keep trying! Everyone thought Theo was growing up really fast. You know who else is really growing up...my cousin Jenna! She got her ears pierced on Wednesday and with her new haircuit, she looks so grown up! Here is a photo of both of them, and one with Karlie too!

Happy Birthday to Gram Gram!

This weekend has seemed extra long. I think it was because my Daddy took Friday off and we spent the whole day at Great-Grandpa & Grandma's cottage on the lake. We were there to celebrate my Gram Gram Peters 60th birthday. We got there around lunch to spend some time with Great-Grandpa and Grandma. Then Aunt Michelle, Cohen and Cooper showed up. A little while later, Gram Gram finally came, and Uncle Joe too! We did lots of fun things at the lake. Daddy took Cohen and I down to the water to play with the watering cans. Daddy and I also took a walk with Uncle Joe and Cohen, and we all got really wet when it started to rain when we were 2/3 of the way around the lake. Good thing Daddy and I had our Yankee caps on to keep our heads nice and dry!

On Saturday, Daddy was up and out of the house early to do some fishing, so Mom decided to go out and do hits some garage sales with Grandma Peterson. After breakfast we all headed out in the truck to see what treasures we could find. I think I am going to like going to garage sales with Mom and Grandma. I got two new big trucks and a little teddy bear I took to when I was getting tired and needed something to cuddle.

Sunday was the longest day of this long weekend. I was up extra early this morning, just a few minutes after 6 AM. I'm not sure why really, but I think it was because of these two new molars that finally came through my gums this week. They have really been a big pain...literally! We went to church, then it was home for a snack and a quick bit of playtime before it was naptime. I didn't nap really long, even though I was up so early. It really was too nice of a day to waste sleeping. I spent the whole afternoon outside. Grandma Peterson came over to keep an eye on me so Mom and Dad could get some yardwork done. I decided to go for a ride on Daddy's tractor when he was mowing, which was fun at first, but then it got a little boring just going around and around....so I dozed off right there on his lap. After dinner, we all took a nice drive through the hills to get some ice cream. I didn't get any ice cream though because I dozed off again. Like I said, it was a long weekend! It was a lot for a little man like me!

Theodore's New Stats

Theodore William went to the doctor's yesterday. He had to get his first series of vaccinations so he had four shots in the legs...OUCH! I am so glad I am done with those! Mom and Dad said he did well though. He started to cry, turned as red as a tomato, but calmed down as soon as Daddy scooped him up and cuddled him. I am so glad Daddy goes to all our doctor's appointments. He is the one who gets us undressed and ready to see the doctor while Mommy talks to the nurse and writes down all our new measurements.

Speaking of measurements, here is where Theodore is at 9 weeks old with a comparison of where I was at the same age. As you can see, he is on track to be bigger than me. I guess I better be nice to him.

Theodore William at 9 weeks
Weight: 14 lbs. (90th percentile)
Length: 23 3/4 inches (75 percentile)
Head: 41 cm (75th percentile)

Tyrus Lynn at 9 weeks
Weight: 11 lbs. 12 oz.
Length: 23 1/4 inches
Head: 40 cm

Dad's Day and Dedications

Our Family on Father's Day 2008
Happy Father's Day to all the great guys in my life, especially my Daddy. I had a great weekend with Dad. On Saturday, we went to see Papa Peters while Mommy went to get a pedicure and some time away with Aunt Shannon. I love being at Papa's house because he has different toys I can play with. There was a new doctor's cart there this time so I spent most of the time pushing that all around the house. On the way home, we stopped at a great Mexican restaurant in Bath, NY. It was my first real try of Mexican food and I really liked it. I especially liked the yummy fried ice cream we got for dessert.

Yesterday was Father's Day and also Theodore's dedication at church. We were up early for church as usually, but we didn't go alone! Papa and Grandma Peters came with us. So did Grandma Peterson, Uncle George, Aunt Laurie, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna. Mom and Dad usually take me right over to the nursery while they go to the service, but I stayed for the beginning of the service this time so I could go up front with Mom and Dad as Theo was dedicated. Of course, it was hard for me to stay quiet and to stay still so Daddy walked around with me until it was time to go up, and promptly headed for the nursery with me once the dedication was over.

Mom and Theodore at the Dedication

Everyone came back to our house and we ate a yummy brunch, then headed outside to play. I showed everyone how I go all over the yard pushing my red cart. My cousins were really good about watching me as I ran around and played. All the playing got me REALLY tired and I took nearly a 4 hour nap in the afternoon. Luckily when I woke up, everyone was still here (minus Grandma & Papa Peters who headed home earlier). Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were all swimming in the pool. I am still not so sure about the pool. I like to be able to put my feet down on something solid when I am in water, but I did have a lot of fun walking around the outside of the pool and throwing the balls in to them. I even stood on the ladder and put my feet in the water for a while.

We had a super yummy cookout before they all had to head home. It was great to see everyone and it turned out to be a great weekend! The day wound down with a bath from Mommy and some cuddle time with Daddy. Can't ask for anything more than that!!

In honor of Theodore's Dedication, here are some extra cute photos of him. He has started sucking his thumb a lot. And guess what? Last night, he slept completely through the night!! Theo slept from 8 PM to 6 AM!! That is 10 hours and is by far the longest he has ever gone! Mommy sure was happy!

Trip to the Falls

We are back from our mini-getaway to Niagara Falls! Mom, Dad, Theo and I left on Wednesday morning around 11 AM and got home late last night. We had a great time! Here is how things went down...

We pulled out of the driveway at 11:04 AM on Wednesday. The morning was pretty relaxed since Mom was super-organized and had things packed & ready to go the night before. And, we sure packed the car right to the brim!! We had pack-n-plays, strollers, toys, bumper seats, blankets, food, clothes!!

Our first destination was the Outlet Mall in Niagara Falls, NY to do some shopping. We had lunch when we first arrived, then Mom proceeded to run in and out of stores while Dad circled the area with us in the stroller. If Dad stopped moving, I would quickly remind him to resume movement by letting out a yell. As long as Dad kept the stroller moving, Theo and I stayed happy, so for the next few hours, Mom would go in stores, come out with bags, and Dad would take bags out to the car while Mom continued shopping. Each of us got something new! Mom got some tank tops and new sneakers. Dad got some t-shirts and a duffel bag. Theodore and I got matching shirts for the 4th of July and some new bath toys. Dad even found us some really cool collectible figurines, one of Ty Cobb for me and one of Ted Williams for Theodore.

When we left the mall, we headed for the Rainbow Bridge which took us out of the United States and into Canada. This was the first time Theodore and I were ever out of the country. We stayed at the Embassy Suites Fallsview. Dad got us an upgrade to a Presidential Suite! The view was absolutely amazing from our room. The room sat at the corner of the building with this large rounded window so we could see both the American and Canadian falls from our room. I couldn't believe how high up in the air we were!!
Mom got us all settled in the room while Daddy went out to get us some dinner. When Daddy got back, I was taking a bath, but this wasn't just any bath...this was a super-duper huge bath!

Teddy was glad just to be out a car seat and relaxing on the big bed.

On Thursday, we got up and headed out to explore! We walked around Niagara Falls for most of the morning, checking out souvenir shops and enjoying the town before it got too warm. Here is a photo of Daddy, Theodore and me when we stopped for some Dippin' Dot ice cream. Daddy got quite a workout that morning pushing the double stroller and wearing the backpack!

We walked all the way down to the Falls, but by then I was too tired to really be excited about it. Mom and Dad still had enough energy to smile!

We went back to the hotel around mid-day to cool off and take a snooze. I slept for three hours and when I woke up it was time to go out for some dinner. We actually went to the IMAX theatre first. We bought our tickets and got all settled in the theatre to watch the show, but then they showed previews for the dinosaur show that was playing next and I got scared. These dinosaurs looked life size on the huge IMAX screen and the roared REALLY loud. I jumped about 6 feet of Daddy's lap and screamed. Mom had already seen the show so her and I left the theatre while Daddy and Theodore stayed for the show about the falls. Mommy and I filled our time by playing with stuffed animals in the gift shop and having our photo taken in a photo booth. We headed back to the hotel for dinner. Mom and Dad had some yummy prime rib, but I didn't eat much. In fact, I didn't eat much the whole trip because I have a new tooth trying to come through. This one is a big tooth and my gum is so swollen, it looks like it might explode!

Here are some more views from our room. This is the view during the day...

And here is the same view at night...

After dinner, Daddy took me for my first swim in a pool! I was really nervous being around so much water so I held really tight to Daddy's shirt. After our swim, it was up to bed. Mom and Dad were really happy that Theodore and I slept well during the trip. Thursday was actually Mom and Dad's anniversary, so it was nice for them to have some quiet time to spend together once us boys were asleep.

The morning came really early in our hotel rooms, especially as the light poured in those big windows and woke us up. Teddy was usually the first up, but at least he wakes up with a smile!

We packed everything up and headed home on Friday morning. We stopped at a Dairy Queen for some lunch and then headed back to the U.S. of A! Since Aunt Michelle and Uncle Joe's house was on our way home, we stopped there for a while to visit. I loved being there with all of Cohen's toys to play with, especially after having such a limited selection of toys at the hotel.

All in all, we had a fabulous family trip!! It was great to spend time as a family away from home! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! Thanks for the fun trip!!

Scrubby in the Tubby!

Did you know that in just a few more days, on the 5th of June, I will be 16 months old and my Mom & Dad will have been married for 4 years? Yep, it is a big day coming up so we are taking a trip as a family to celebrate. Mom & Dad have made plans for us to go to Niagara Falls this week! I'll make sure to take lots of photos and post them when we get back.

This past weekend was a nice, family weekend. Mom had some friends from college, Alyson and Preston who came to visit on Saturday. They were down this way for a wedding and had their new son, Preston II with them. He is super cute! They got a big kick out of me when I woke up from my nap because I was very animated and talkative. I'm not shy at all!

Later that day, we went to Grandma Peters' house to have dinner with her and Aunt Michelle, Cohen and Cooper. Grandpa Peters came over for a while to see us too! I like to chase my cousin Cohen around and explore Grandma's house. After dinner, Cohen and I took our baths together. It was fun to splash around, share toys and get clean together!

Everyone is always commenting on how long my eyelashes are. They look especially long when they are wet. See!
I was a little under the weather yesterday. It was a combination of being tired from Saturday and from getting my new teeth. I took a super long nap in the afternoon and when I woke up, I wasn't interested in playing much. I just wanted to sit on Daddy's lap and cuddle. Mom said I had a little bit of a temperature when I went to bed so she gave me some medicine and I am feeling much better today. That is a good thing, because there is lots to do to get ready for our trip later this week!

Theodore is doing really good too. He is 7 weeks old now and is starting to smile and interact a little more. I got my first smiles from him on Saturday morning. He thinks I am a good big brother. Theo is also starting to sleep more during the night, which has made things a little easier on Mom & Dad. They said next week he is going to start to sleep with me in our room. Mom redecorate the room to fit both of us so we can share a room. I think it will be nice having my little brother share a room with me!
