Welcome Gehrig Ward Peters!

Hello friends & family!  You may have been patiently waiting to see some of these photos of our new Peters boy, Gehrig Ward Peters!  Wait no longer, because here they are!!

Mom started labor on Tuesday evening.  After several nights of false labor, it took a few hours to realize that this was the real thing.  At about 2 AM, we called Grammie in and headed to the hospital.  We arrived and got settled in a delivery room by about 3 AM.  The labor was relatively mild compared to other birthing experiences, so Mom did well getting through the pain and once she got an epidural around 5 AM, her and Daddy were able to catch a nap before the real excitement started.  The delivery was fast and painless for Mom, another wonderful birth with a miraculous result!

Gehrig was born at 8:08 AM on Wednesday, October 12th...right on his due date!  He arrived just on time and was just the right addition for our family!  Another little boy seemed like it was perfect for us!

Gehrig and Daddy in the delivery room

Gehrig meets his brothers!  Teddy was in awe!

Tyrus couldn't wait to hold him!

Denton wasn't as interested in the new baby, but was a good sport about sharing Daddy's lap after his finger got pinched in the cupboard door.

This was later in the day on Wednesday and Mom was feeling good and excited to introduce Gehrig to his brothers.

Precious new boy!

Bundled up for the trip home!

As much as Mommy loves the a couple days in the hospital to rest & get to know the new baby, she was ready to come home and be with the family.

Finding a safe spot to set the baby without his brothers bothering him has been a bit of a challenge!

All the boys love to hold Gehrig and ask if they can hold him usually several times each day, especially Tyrus.

As a family on the move, Gehrig was out and about with us by the weekend!

Gehrig is already 3 and 1/2 weeks old!  Daddy was able to stay home for the 2 1/2 weeks after the birth and that was a big help as we all settled in to a new routine and pace of life.  Things are busy, but it is a blessed busy and we could be more thankful for having Gehrig part of our family.

In other October news, we had a great Superhero Halloween!!

Adirondacks 2011

This was our 4th annual trip up to Eagle Bay during the last week of June with friends & family.  This year was great!  The boys were a year older and able to enjoy even more activities.  Denton stood up on his own and took his first step during our week there.  It was full of memories!

Our annual kickball game - Tyrus is trying to beat Daddy to the base!

Teddy RUN!!

Denton did not lack for attention all week...here he is with Sarah enjoying the kickball game from the sidelines.

The boys enjoyed the beach again this year.  This is surely Tyrus negotiating with me to stay "3 more minutes!"

How did Denton get that car on his head?

Ah, yes!  His brother Teddy did it!

Dave and I got a date night out thanks to Grammie and Shannon and enjoyed a nice dinner & sunset.

We had a week full of pirate activities - this was Tyrus's entry into the cake decorating contest!

And here was Teddy's!

We had a ride on the boat one evening....

...which was another pirate adventure for the boys.

We went up on one of the islands to search for those pirates!

Enchanted Forest was a lot of fun for the boys this year!  This is Tyrus doing his T-Rex impression.

Teddy in the Dwarf Car.

Tyrus & Teddy in the witch's stove.

Finally a chair big enough to share with pregnant Mom.

"Give us your happy face."

Another part of our Pirate Adventures was a Digital Scavenger Hunt.  Here are some highlights....

And we sported some of the cutest pirates at the Buchaneer Bash!!
Teddy, Sadie and Tyrus all ready for the bash!

Even Daddy made a good pirate!

We made ourselves some tie-dyed shirts which we showed off in our last pictures of the week, just before we loaded up to leave.

Can't wait until next year!!

Catching Up - July 2011

Many of our greatest summer memories each year are made at "the lake", which for our family is Dave's grandparents cottage on Demmons Pond in Howard, NY.  This spot was were Dave's great-grandfather built a cottage back in the 30s, where is Grandma grew up and even where she and Grandpa used to meet up in their younger years.  There is a lot of family history here as 4 generations have jumped, swam and played in these waters.

July 2nd - A perfect start to the holiday weekend...staying cool by the lake.

Teddy was our star swimmer this year.  He gained a lot of confidence with his swimmies.

Fishing was one of their favorite activities at the lake this year.

We were back to the lake on the 4th of July with the Peterson family.

Grandpa Young is sharing some of his vast knowledge with Denton.

A couple of weeks later, we were back with Aunt Shel, Cohen and Cooper.

Just a few of the crazy shots we got while trying to get the annual photo of the boys sitting on the railroad tie.

When all the crazy ones left, there was still a cutie sitting all by himself.

Back at home, the month of July was HOT for Mama!  Here is a shot of me 5 months pregnant and all dressed up in my Derby gear for a friend's baby shower.

Denton catching a little snooze on the hammock.  What a life!

The hot days made it great for some water play!

Denton loves his water table...a birthday gift from Grandma Betsy!  Here is the BEFORE...

...and here is AFTER.  He didn't even make it through lunch.

One highlight in July was the boys first camping experience in the backyard.  It started around 8:30 with a campfire, popcorn and juice.

And ended about 10 o'clock when Daddy brought in 2 tired boys who got spooked by the cat.

More July pictures in the next post from our vacation in the Adirondacks!  We are getting catch up!!
