Best Birthday Party Ever!

Yesterday was the best birthday party ever! It was my 1st birthday party!! I woke up from my morning nap around noon and when I came downstairs, there was all my family!! There was my all of my grandparents, plus Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young, plus Uncle George, Aunt Laurie with my cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna, plus Uncle Joe and Aunt Michelle with Cohen and Cooper, and Aunt Amy, Aunt Amanda, Scott, Aunt Shannon and Sadie. The house was absolutely packed with people, but that didn't slow me down any. I grabbed my walk-behind car and cruised all over the house, weaving through everyone.

My Dad had knee surgery on Friday, so he had to stay in his chair with his knee up for the day. It doesn't stop him from tossing me around though. He is doing well and should be up and around to play with me by the end of the week.

I think my favorite part of the party was when everyone sang to me and I got to eat my first whole cupcake. And I sure ate a whole one!! I almost ate it in one bite! It was so yummy that I just shoved it in my mouth and kept chewing until it was all gone. Everyone thought it was so funny! I didn't even want to come up for air!

It was a great day! Thanks to Mom and Dad for throwing me a great party! Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate my first birthday and for all the wonderful gifts! It was so much fun to wake up this morning and come downstairs to play with all my new toys! I love you all!!

A Day in the Life of the Birthday Boy!!

Yep, I am the birthday boy!! I am one year old today! What a year this has been! I thought it might be fun to run you through my day, so here it goes...
8:06 AM - Good Morning!! I slept in a little later this morning, but you can do that on your birthday!

8:07 AM - Mom changed my diaper while telling me about how she was feeling about this time one year ago. She was just starting labor and I was letting her know that I wanted out!

8:10 AM - The usually routine...lay down in Mom & Dad's bed and drink my morning bottle...

8:39 AM - ....then watch some Baby Einstein! Some mornings Mom cuddles with me and we watch together, but this morning she was up getting herself ready while I watched. That usually means we are headed somewhere for the day!

8:52 AM - A little bit of playtime while Mom makes breakfast.

9:06 AM - Mom made some of my favorites for breakfast this morning! Scrambled eggs, wheat toast and my most favorite lately....bananas!

10 AM - Mom and I went to Sears to have my pictures taken on my birthday! I don't have any to share with you yet though. Take my word for it...they are cute!!

11:33 AM - Daddy surprised Mom and I when he showed up at the Sears Portrait Studio. He took me around the store while Mom finished up with her order. It was great to see him!

11:54 AM - All that made me tired, so I feel asleep in the car on the way home. When I got home I went down for a long three-hour nap!

4:14 PM - I'm up, I've had a snack and I'm ready to play. I thought I would use this time to catch up on my reading.

5:44 PM - We went to TGI Friday's for dinner, just me, Mom and Dad. Yeah! My birthday dinner! 6:12 PM - All the waiters and waitresses came over to sing "Happy Birthday" to me! They announced to the whole restaurant that it was my first birthday and everyone around us joining in singing and clapping. I was just looking around at everyone is disbelief! Was this all really for me on my birthday?!
6:15 PM - I think I learned the best part about birthdays...cake and ice cream!!

6:55 PM - After dinner, we went to my cousin, Tim's basketball game. We got to see Uncle John, Aunt Christine, Sam and Sarah there too! It was quite a treat to see them, especially on my birthday. I liked sitting on Uncle John's lap and playing with his ID from work.

8:41 PM - Back home and way past my usually bedtime, but it was such a busy day. It was hard to fit it all in. Mommy had a special day too. Daddy even bought her roses to commemorate all she went through a year ago today to bring me into the world. Thanks Mom!

8:43 AM - Night, night!

Superbowl Sunday

Yesterday was Superbowl Sunday, which is kind of like an American holiday! So, as with any holiday, we went to visit family. First, we went to church in the morning. Mom and Dad left me at the church nursery during the service for the first time. I LOVED IT! I love to be around other kids and the ladies in the nursery said I am a happy boy! There were kids crying when I got there, and kids crying when I left, but I had a smile the whole time!

After church, we headed to Canisteo for the rest of the day. First, we visited my Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young. They hadn't seen me since the weekend after Christmas, so they were missing me pretty bad. So was my Great-Grandma Peters, who we went to see next. My Grandma Peters went on the visits with us! After making our rounds around Canisteo, our last stop was at my Grandpa's house. I love going there because I can crawl all around and he has lots of balls in different sizes and colors that I can play with.

Mom made everyone a spaghetti dinner. It was my first time trying spaghetti and it was really fun. I wasn't sure what to do with it at first, but Mom showed me that I could not only play with it, but also eat it! YUM!

After we ate, Mom and Dad struggled to get me in my pajamas. I didn't make it easy on them though, because I didn't want to stop moving around. At one point, I was able to escape their grasps and took of with my walker.

Here I come....

And there I go!

Pour Some Sugar on Me

Today, Mom and I went to Binghamton to meet my Auntie Tauheedah. She is my mom's bestest friend from college. She lives out in California, but she was home visiting and we met up with her to spend the afternoon together. I last saw her back in May when I was only 4 months old. She came and spent a few days with Mom and I and we really bonded back. It was so good to see her again because she is crazy!! We went to lunch and she was pouring all the sugar packets onto my lap and just being silly with me! We had lots of laughs together today and I was sad to say good-bye. Hopefully she will be back this summer to see me again and to meet my new baby brother or sister.

We Love You Auntie T!!

Laughter is the Best Medicine

So, usually my Mom and Dad don't let me watch a lot of TV. They say it isn't good for me, that it stiffles my imagination. I do watch Baby Einstein videos in the mornings sometimes with my mom. It allows us to stay in bed and cuddle until the house gets warm and the sun comes up. The other night my Dad was flipping through the TV channels and came to Sesame Street. There was this funny character named Elmo on the TV and he sure caught my funny bone. It was just before bed, which is when I tend to be a little silly (either that or cranky).

Disclaimer: Mom and Dad don't usually let me watch TV this close to the set either, but I happened to be playing with the VCR buttons when this came on.

Movin' and Groovin'

Wow! I see there have been a lot of folks here to visit my site! Sorry I haven't gotten a new post up in a while, but hopefully this one is worth the wait.

Today, I went with Mom to Corning Hospital so she could have some blood work done. Pretty standard stuff I guess for her point in the pregnancy. Dad came to pick me up there since it was going to take a while. I got to come back home, just me and Dad and play for a while. Dad has been working with me lately trying to show me the basics of walking. For a long time, I wouldn't put my feet down when someone would hold me up by the arms to try and walk me across the room. Dad finally got me comfortable with it by saying "Run, run, run" and walking me quickly across the room. I thought it was lots of fun, so we have been doing it every night for the past week or so. Tonight was a little different though, and by the time Mom got back from the hospital, I was doing this....

Yep, I am on the move! A few days ago, I wouldn't stand behind this thing no matter how Mom and Dad tried, but today....I just got it! Now I can buzz all over the livingroom. I am even figuring out how to change direction. Good thing I can "run, run, run" because it goes fast on our floors!

My Friend Tully

I have a friend named Tully Fratarcangelo. I have mentioned him before here on my blog. He is 3 months younger than me and our Moms and Dads have been friends for quite a while now. I got to see Tully quite a bit over this holiday. First, we went out to dinner with our parents to Olive Garden right after Christmas. Then on Thursday, our Moms met up at Kohl's to do some shopping. But most fun of all was yesterday. Tully came over to my house to play for a while in the afternoon. He is just starting to crawl around and he enjoyed checking out all my toys. One things he did not enjoy was me constantly trying to touch his face. I guess I was just really glad to see him. Here is a little video of my friend Tully laughing at his mom. He has a really funny laugh and I was getting a kick out of it too.
