Summertime is FUNtime!

Summer is so much fun!! This week was filled with lots of fun days. On Monday, Aunt Jean and Jenna were still staying over at Grandma's house after our big family party weekend. They came by in the afternoon. Jenna went swimming while I splashed my feet in the pool. Theodore took a little snooze on Aunt Jean's lap. Isn't he getting big?

Tuesday was a HOT day, so my cousin Jenna came over and we played in the sprinkler! Jenna would set up all the pails to catch the water, and I would run around and steal them and dump them out. It was a fun way to cool off!

On Wednesday, Daddy, Mommy, Theodore and I all went up to Rochester to Uncle George and Aunt Lou Lou's house for an evening picnic and to see some of Mommy's family that was visiting. I got to meet my Mommy's Aunt June and Uncle Russ for the first time, plus my Mommy's cousin Jay and his family were visiting from Montana. She hadn't seen him is like 15 years or something crazy like that!

I spent Friday at Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young's cottage on the lake. My cousins from Scranton, PA were visiting. There was Kaitlyn and Michael, and Lea and Maria and their mom, Aunt Beth. Even Aunt Michelle, Cohen and Cooper were there for the day.

Me and Kaitlyn - She helped keep an eye on me all day!

We got their late in the morning and it was cold and rainy, but it started to warm up and I got to go in the lake for the first time. I wasn't too sure of it at first and kept trying to climb up the stairs to get out of the water, but once I got to see all the fun things you can do in the lake, I started to enjoy myself. Things like....

...filling the watering can and pouring it out...

...or playing with rocks on the breakwall, then throwing them back in the water.

It was all fine and dandy until a boat went by and the big waves came. Once they hit the breakwall and splashed me in the face, I was done playing in the lake. That was okay though, because there is lots of other things that I think our fun to do there. Things like....

...sitting on the railroad tie and playing with my cars...
...or eating yummy fried Perch for lunch...
...or helping Great-Grandma by sweeping the patio!

I really love days "at the lake" and I hope I can make many memories here as I grow up, just like my daddy did!

God Bless America!

Theodore showing his patriotic spirit on the 4th of July!

I must say that my family knows how to celebrate the 4th of July!! This was the 4th Annual 4th of July celebration weekend that we hosted at our house. It all started on Thursday afternoon when my Uncle George, Aunt Laurie and cousins all pulled in with their camper. I actually wasn't here when they got here because I had gone to Grandma Peterson's house for the afternoon so Mom and Dad could finish up the last preparations for our weekend. They all came over to Grandma's house though, where we met up for some yummy lasagna dinner. My Uncle George and Aunt Terry from Albany were also there.

Friday was the 4th of July and our celebration really started to kick into gear! Not only were my cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna around to play with, but my Grandpa Peterson and Aunt Jean came, so did Uncle John, Aunt Christine and cousins Sarah and Sam. We spent the day enjoying the beautiful weather and setting up for the BIG party on Saturday. That evening, there was a photographer who came to our house to take some family portraits. They came out really good and of course, I was the cutest of all!!
Saturday was busy, busy, busy right from the start!! We had tons of friends and family who came to our house to celebrate the 4th of July, Grandma's retirement, Uncle Gary's birthday and Jennifer Jordan (she is my mommy's cousins) birthday! My Great-Aunt Arlene who turned 90 this year even came! There were lots of kids to play with between my cousins and other friend's kids. It was lots of fun! Here are some photos of all the fun we had....

The partying didn't stop there! Later in the day, we had to leave our party for a while and go to another party for Daddy's side of the family. It was at the Radisson in Corning. My cousins, Lea and Maria fed me dinner. It was super yummy! Then I worked of the food with some dancing! I got to run around the dance floor and clap!! We couldn't stay long though since we had so many people waiting for our return back at home. When we got back, it was almost time for the annual tradition of an outdoor movie complete with popcorn and snacks! I couldn't stay up for that though. It was getting really late and I was really tired from all the fun.

There were still lots of people here on Sunday since we had campers in the backyard. Aunt Shannon and Sadie were still here. So was Aunt Wendy, Uncle Donny, Emily and Maggie. We ate a big breakfast and watched as even more people came back from hotels to enjoy another beautiful day, like Uncle Roger, Aunt Kathy, Kaitlyn and Kristen, and Aunt Annie, Uncle Tim, Jillian and Jonathan. Everyone was back in the pool and playing in the yard! Later in the day, my Uncle Jason (Daddy's cousin) and Aunt Amy came by with my cousins, Chance and Colby. Chance is just 6 month older than me and I hadn't seen him since Christmas. Now we are both walking and talking. Uncle Jason helped us both get up and play on the Daddy's tractor.

Mommy took me swimming after my nap on Sunday. I am still not sure about the water, but with all the other kids playing around me, I got distracted and stayed in longer than I have before.
When I was getting cold and ready to get out, Grandma was there to snatch me up. She thinks I am pretty cute!

It was another great 4th of July weekend here at our house!! I had SOOO much fun!! Thanks to everyone who came!!

Back from Rochester

Grandma Peterson, Mom, Theodore and I all went to Rochester on Wednesday to visit friends and family. This was Theodore's first trip up to Mom's hometown. We packed a lot into two days, which is normal for our trips there. There are just so many people we love to go see!!

First, we stopped at Rochester General Hospital where Grandma used to work. She got to see lots of her old coworkers and was really proud to show me and Theodore off to everyone. Then we headed over to Brooke & Angelo's house. Brookey is Mom's best friend from high school and her baby, Ava is just 10 days younger than Theodore. Ava was a premie, but she is growing fast. She is up over 8 lbs. now and is as cute as ever! Here is a picture of her with Grandma...

I was pretty tired by this time of the day, we went over to Uncle George and Aunt Laurie's house. We were staying the night in their camper right outside there house. Grandma and Mom set it up with my pack-n-play and some of my toys. It was like a home-away-from-home! I got to play a little with Jenna, Karlie and Aunt Lou Lou before it was time to lay down and try to get some rest.

I didn't rest long though, because around 5:30 PM, Brooke and Angelo came over with Ava so everyone could see her. By then, everyone included Uncle George, Amanda and Amy. Then we all split up...Grandma went with Uncle George, Aunt Laurie and the girls to Sarah's 8th grade promotion ceremony. I went with Mom, Amy, Amanda and Brooke out to dinner at Carraba's. We were celebrating my Aunt Amy's 30th birthday which was last Friday. I had a lot of fun at dinner sitting next to Amy.
When we got back to the house, it was time to get ready for bed. Mom gave me a little mini-bath in Aunt Lou Lou's bathroom sink. When they got home, I was just finishing up with my bath and broke loose from the bathroom totally naked. I was running around the house screaming because I was so excited everyone was back. They all thought I was pretty funny running around in my birthday suit!!

It was fun waking up there and going inside to see everyone. I got to see Uncle George before he left for work and help him with some chores, like taking out the garbage. I spent most of the morning wearing out my cousins who took turns watching me. Mom, Theodore and I left for a little while to go to Foster & Wager and visit Mom's old coworkers, but we were back in time for lunch and a quick catnap, and even a little more time to play with everyone before it was time to head home. I had lots of fun with everyone!

Theodore had lots of fun too! He really likes to watch everyone now and smiles a lot more. He even laughed for the first time on Monday. He first laughed at Mommy when she was making noises for him, and then let out another giggle for Daddy at dinner that night. Of course, we haven't been able to make him laugh since, but we keep trying! Everyone thought Theo was growing up really fast. You know who else is really growing up...my cousin Jenna! She got her ears pierced on Wednesday and with her new haircuit, she looks so grown up! Here is a photo of both of them, and one with Karlie too!

Happy Birthday to Gram Gram!

This weekend has seemed extra long. I think it was because my Daddy took Friday off and we spent the whole day at Great-Grandpa & Grandma's cottage on the lake. We were there to celebrate my Gram Gram Peters 60th birthday. We got there around lunch to spend some time with Great-Grandpa and Grandma. Then Aunt Michelle, Cohen and Cooper showed up. A little while later, Gram Gram finally came, and Uncle Joe too! We did lots of fun things at the lake. Daddy took Cohen and I down to the water to play with the watering cans. Daddy and I also took a walk with Uncle Joe and Cohen, and we all got really wet when it started to rain when we were 2/3 of the way around the lake. Good thing Daddy and I had our Yankee caps on to keep our heads nice and dry!

On Saturday, Daddy was up and out of the house early to do some fishing, so Mom decided to go out and do hits some garage sales with Grandma Peterson. After breakfast we all headed out in the truck to see what treasures we could find. I think I am going to like going to garage sales with Mom and Grandma. I got two new big trucks and a little teddy bear I took to when I was getting tired and needed something to cuddle.

Sunday was the longest day of this long weekend. I was up extra early this morning, just a few minutes after 6 AM. I'm not sure why really, but I think it was because of these two new molars that finally came through my gums this week. They have really been a big pain...literally! We went to church, then it was home for a snack and a quick bit of playtime before it was naptime. I didn't nap really long, even though I was up so early. It really was too nice of a day to waste sleeping. I spent the whole afternoon outside. Grandma Peterson came over to keep an eye on me so Mom and Dad could get some yardwork done. I decided to go for a ride on Daddy's tractor when he was mowing, which was fun at first, but then it got a little boring just going around and around....so I dozed off right there on his lap. After dinner, we all took a nice drive through the hills to get some ice cream. I didn't get any ice cream though because I dozed off again. Like I said, it was a long weekend! It was a lot for a little man like me!

Theodore's New Stats

Theodore William went to the doctor's yesterday. He had to get his first series of vaccinations so he had four shots in the legs...OUCH! I am so glad I am done with those! Mom and Dad said he did well though. He started to cry, turned as red as a tomato, but calmed down as soon as Daddy scooped him up and cuddled him. I am so glad Daddy goes to all our doctor's appointments. He is the one who gets us undressed and ready to see the doctor while Mommy talks to the nurse and writes down all our new measurements.

Speaking of measurements, here is where Theodore is at 9 weeks old with a comparison of where I was at the same age. As you can see, he is on track to be bigger than me. I guess I better be nice to him.

Theodore William at 9 weeks
Weight: 14 lbs. (90th percentile)
Length: 23 3/4 inches (75 percentile)
Head: 41 cm (75th percentile)

Tyrus Lynn at 9 weeks
Weight: 11 lbs. 12 oz.
Length: 23 1/4 inches
Head: 40 cm

Dad's Day and Dedications

Our Family on Father's Day 2008
Happy Father's Day to all the great guys in my life, especially my Daddy. I had a great weekend with Dad. On Saturday, we went to see Papa Peters while Mommy went to get a pedicure and some time away with Aunt Shannon. I love being at Papa's house because he has different toys I can play with. There was a new doctor's cart there this time so I spent most of the time pushing that all around the house. On the way home, we stopped at a great Mexican restaurant in Bath, NY. It was my first real try of Mexican food and I really liked it. I especially liked the yummy fried ice cream we got for dessert.

Yesterday was Father's Day and also Theodore's dedication at church. We were up early for church as usually, but we didn't go alone! Papa and Grandma Peters came with us. So did Grandma Peterson, Uncle George, Aunt Laurie, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna. Mom and Dad usually take me right over to the nursery while they go to the service, but I stayed for the beginning of the service this time so I could go up front with Mom and Dad as Theo was dedicated. Of course, it was hard for me to stay quiet and to stay still so Daddy walked around with me until it was time to go up, and promptly headed for the nursery with me once the dedication was over.

Mom and Theodore at the Dedication

Everyone came back to our house and we ate a yummy brunch, then headed outside to play. I showed everyone how I go all over the yard pushing my red cart. My cousins were really good about watching me as I ran around and played. All the playing got me REALLY tired and I took nearly a 4 hour nap in the afternoon. Luckily when I woke up, everyone was still here (minus Grandma & Papa Peters who headed home earlier). Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were all swimming in the pool. I am still not so sure about the pool. I like to be able to put my feet down on something solid when I am in water, but I did have a lot of fun walking around the outside of the pool and throwing the balls in to them. I even stood on the ladder and put my feet in the water for a while.

We had a super yummy cookout before they all had to head home. It was great to see everyone and it turned out to be a great weekend! The day wound down with a bath from Mommy and some cuddle time with Daddy. Can't ask for anything more than that!!

In honor of Theodore's Dedication, here are some extra cute photos of him. He has started sucking his thumb a lot. And guess what? Last night, he slept completely through the night!! Theo slept from 8 PM to 6 AM!! That is 10 hours and is by far the longest he has ever gone! Mommy sure was happy!
