Come One, Come All!

We had some visitors last week, which made our week really fun. First, Jenna came in to town to stay with Grammy Peterson while she was off from school. Jenna is one of my favorite playmates. I woke up everyday last week asking "Where's Jenna?" On Monday, she came over to play with me and stayed for dinner. On Tuesday, we all went over to the PRC together (which is this really fun place above the library). We even got to see her on Wednesday before she headed back home. Thanks for coming to see us Jenna! We love you!!

Teddy spotted a pretty face!
And was determined to get it!!
CHEESE!
On Friday, we had some more company. This time it was Uncle Roger, Aunt Kathy, Kaitlyn and Kristen. They are like my cousin-in-laws, and are big fans of my blog. Hi Kaitlyn and Kristen!! Thanks for coming over to see us while you were in the neighborhood! We miss you already!

I love to have visitors. It adds some excitment into this long, cold winter days. So, if you are reading this and haven't seen me in a while...give my Mom Mom a call and come see us!!

I'm a Big Boy!

"I'm a Big Boy" is not just one of my favorite phrases these days, it has also been medical confirmed at my 2-year old check-up I had with my doctor this morning. I am just over 3 feet tall (a half an inch over to be exact) and this puts me in the 95th percentile for height vs. age. I weighed 28 lbs. (50th percentile) which makes me officially "lean and mean", just like Mom and Dad have always said. Apparently, I also have a "big boy" head at 51 cm. that is nearly of the charts above the 95th percentile. That's alright, more room in there for good stuff like brains!

Other new examples of my "big boy" status are that I am now taking showers and doing some big boy things like coloring and working with flash cards. I take my showers with Dad, mainly because I have this recent and somewhat unexplained fear of the bathtub. Showers with Dad are pretty fun though. Daddy tells me "It's okay" and "You're a big boy" to help me feel more comfortable. So, the other day when Daddy was taking a shower, I told Mommy "Daddy is a big boy". I thought maybe he would appreciate the encouragement like I do.

I had a pretty fun weekend. On Friday night, I went with Dad, Mom and Teddy to take care of some errands. We decided to go to the Outback for dinner since we were out that way. There was a bit of a wait, but I made sure I was entertained by handing my new flash cards to the nice guy sitting next to me. He was nice enough to flip through them with me while I named off all the different items. After dinner, Mom and Dad took us to Toys R Us. WHOA! That is a fun place! I picked out a new toy for Valentine's Day...a new Harold the Helicopter. He is a friend of Thomas the train, except he is a helicopter. He goes everywhere with me now.

Yesterday, we took a drive up to see my Uncle George and Aunt Lou Lou after church. We spent the afternoon at their house so I could see my cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna and we could have a nice family dinner. I was really missing them since I hadn't seen them since Christmas. Here is a picture of me and Karlie, and one of Sarah with Teddy. I don't have one with Jenna, but she is up visiting at Grammy's house this week, so I am sure to get some photos with her over the next few days that I will share with you.

I guess you may want to know about Teddy too, huh? He is doing good. He is growing a lot too. He isn't quite the big boy that I am, but he is showing signs of getting there. He is really close to crawling, and even though he doesn't really crawl yet, he seems to be able to get where he wants. He kind of rolls and stretches, and just moves somehow. People really seem to like his hair and comment about it when we are out in public. Grammy says he looks like Snoopy's friend, Woodstock, which I guess is a little bird with some crazy hair. It actually looks pretty tame in this photo compared to how it usually is.

Family Walks

We have been trying to get out on walks as a family this week with the warmer temperatures. On Wednesday, Teddy and I got all packed into our new John Deere wagon and went for a ride. Mom and Dad took turns pulling us around. It was really fun! Mom kept laughing at us everytime she looked at us. I think it had something to do with Teddy's funny hat. I brought my train Thomas along for the ride. It was cold again today, but I look forward to the warmer temperatures coming around again so we can take more walks together.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi everyone! Today was an extra special day! I turned 2 years old today. I wanted everyone to be able to experience the day with me, so here are some photos of just what I did today.

I woke up this morning wearing my Thomas the Train pajamas and ready to get the day started.

I got my first present when I got downstairs. It was my new train Henry!

After breakfast, Mom, Teddy and I were off to Mom's MOPS meeting. I got to be in the room with all the other kids my age. I had tons of fun playing with them and even made Mom & Dad a Valentine's Day card.

I got home and had a quick bit of lunch.

Then went down for a nap.

When I woke up from my nap, Daddy was home. He gave me my next present which was a new train named Toby.

We left soon after to go meet Grammy Peterson, Gram Gram Peters and Papa Peters for a birthday dinner. We had some yummy Mexican food. I got some great presents from my grandparents.

I got to eat my favorite food....French Fries!!

Everyone knows I love Thomas the Train. I even had a Thomas birthday cake!!

I made a wish and blew out my candles!

Then we all had some cake! Even Teddy got to have a bit!

When I got back home, I opened some more presents from Mom and Dad. I was showing Mom Mom one of my new puzzles.

I had a bit of time to play with my new fire truck!!

But soon it was time for bed. Here I was just before getting ready to go to bed. Boy, I sure was tired. I packed a lot of excitement into my second birthday!

SUPER Weekend!!

My cousin Jenna came to visit this weekend. She was staying at Grammy's house, so on Friday night, I stayed there too! Jenna and I always have so much fun together! On Saturday evening, Mom Mom, Teddy and I met up with Grammy, Jenna, Aunt Shannon and Sadie at McDonald's. This one had a big indoor playgroud. French fries and an indoor playground...it was like my own personal heaven!! Jenna and Sadie did a great job of helping me get around the playground with all its tunnels and big steps.

We finished of our fun dinner with some hot fudge sundaes...even Teddy got a little taste!

Yesterday was Superbowl Sunday and we had a few friends over before the big game. Ed, Sarah and Tully came over. So did Sarah, Matt, Caleb and Isaac. Even Tim and Tonia were here! All us boys got into the toys and our parents enjoy some time to visit and eat.
Tonia was hanging out with Teddy. She really likes his super blonde mohawk! It was really fun to have everyone over. I am really happy Mom & Dad have friends with kids my age so we can grow and play together over the years!

Back from the Bug

Hi there friends and family! It's Tyrus here! I'm back after a little break. You'll have to forgive me for the lack of posts lately. I was a bit under the weather last week and just starting to feel like myself again. Looks like I had a stomach bug which wasn't very fun, but I didn't let that stop me from smiling most of the time, even through some high fevers and messy situations.

Mom Mom and Dad Dad took good care of me over the weekend, even though they weren't feeling great themselves. Daddy put together a big track with my GeoTrax set, let me lay on his chest and watch movies, and read me countless "Thomas the Tank Engine" stories.

Teddy seemed to avoid most of the symptoms the rest of the family was having, although he has been in some prickly moods with his two top teeth cutting through. You can see his new teeth coming in these pictures. For some reason, Teddy always makes this funny face when Mom points a camera at him. Must be getting ready for the flash or something. Anyway, we think it is pretty funny.

Teddy is also getting some new mobility techniques. He isn't crawling yet, but it seems like he is getting close. He kind of rolls around in order to reach things, and get himself up on all four, but doesn't go anywhere. He seems to quickly tire and just put his head down for a rest....

...but I am always there to offer a little encouragement and love!

Grammy has been over a few times this week to watch us. Yesterday, her and Mom were so busy talking and waiting to put Teddy up for his nap, that tired, little Teddy just went to sleep in Grammy's arms.

We got a lot of snow here over night, so Mom Mom and I decided to venture outside to play in the snow while Teddy napped this morning. I am getting more and more used to walking around in it. Mom tried to help me out by shoveling some "roads" for me to walk on and push my trucks. Delia and Blossom love the snow too!!
