The Month of August

I guess I have to just write about the whole month of August since it has quickly passed by with no blog postings. I can't even remember all the things I did this month. Good thing I have some photos to remind me!

Once we got back from our trip to the Adirondacks, we scheduled a big celebration dinner at Papa Peters house. Papa's birthday passed while we were gone, but we didn't want that to keep us from celebrating with him. My Uncle Joe, Aunt Shel, cousins Cohen and Cooper and Gram Gram Peters were all there. The best parts were playing in Papa's yard with my cousins and eating ice cream cake!

We've been enjoying our new playground. Our favorite thing to do is swing. I can use the big boy swing now and I love it! I always want an "underdog" or to "go higher"! Daddy can push us and swing with us at the same time!
There were a few really hot days this month. To escape the heat, we would go up to "the lake", my Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young's cottage on Demons Pond. I love it there. I particularly like to wade around in the water and throw big rocks, watch them splash and then try to find them again. This was a favorite rock of mine. It is a square and therefore easy to find on the bottom.

We always have good food at the lake too. Great-Grandpa Young makes the best sweet corn because he cooks it for just the right amount of time. The kernels just burst in your mouth! Teddy was loving his piece of corn!!

Around mid-month, we took a trip up to Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary's camp. It was a weekend of fun with Grammie Peterson there, and Uncle George, Aunt Lou Lou and the girls. Even their cousins Daniel and Nicholas were there. Mom and Dad took me and Teddy for a little boat ride around the pond, and Uncle Gary put up the same ol' swingset that Mom, Aunt Amy and Aunt Amanda all played on when they were little. They love when we come up to their camp and do everything to make it a safe and fun place for us to stay!

I went swimming with Daddy in the pond. I'm still not so sure about water when I can't put my feet down, but Daddy made it better.

The town was having their Community Days and Mom, Dad, Grammie, me and Teddy all went to catch the parade. There were fire trucks and old cars, and some of the float threw candy!

We spent one Saturday this month in the Syracuse area. First we went to the Summerville Farm to celebrate Mr. & Mrs. Summerville's 50th wedding anniversary. I've been wanting to go to the farm for so long! It was just as wonderful as I expected. I loved to see the baby calf and the big tractors. I even got to ride in one! After the farm, we went to a graduation party for Mom's cousin's twin daugters. We got to see lots of family that we don't see often enough. One of them was my Mom's Great Aunt Arlene. Aunt Arlene is really special because she is the last sister of 15 siblings of my Great-Grandma Gertie, my Mom's beloved grandmother.

Speaking of Great-Grandparents, I've got too of the best around! We had a fantastic Sunday dinner at the lake that weekend and stayed long enough to get our jammies on there. I cuddled with both Grandma and Grandpa Young. Teddy was as content as could be sitting on Grandpa's lap with his blankie and his thumb.

This last weekend of August was a "boy's weekend" here at our house. That is because Mom was gone off to see some friends for the weekend, and it was just Daddy, me and Teddy here to fend for ourselves. We had lots of fun doing "boy" things, but we were all glad to see Mom when she came home.
And that was our month in a nutshell....

Adirondacks 2009

We are back from our vacation in the Adirondacks and we had a FANTASTIC week!! Just like last year, we stayed at Holiday Shores just outside Eagle Bay on Fourth Lake. We made lots of wonderful memories this year, and would like to share a few with my photo slideshow!

Cousin Time!!

Hi friends and family! As you probably know, I have lots of cousins. On my Daddy's side, there are four grandsons. There is me and Teddy, and then my Aunt Shel & Uncle Joe have two boys, Cohen and Cooper. We are all blonde and super cute!! We have gotten to spend a lot of time together this summer just being boys!

Here we are at Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young's cottage over 4th of July weekend. Our moms dressed us all alike. Kind of silly, but everyone sure thought we were cute!

Theodore (15 months), Cohen (4 years old), Tyrus (2 years old), Cooper (20 months)

This is our second cousin Dawson. He is my Daddy's cousin Brett's son. He is 9 months old now, and the way he is growing, he is likely to be bigger than all of us!!

We got to have a lot of cousin time during a visit to Aunt Shel & Uncle Joe's house last week. We spent a couple of days there and got to play outside in their new pool, take walks to the playground, and even go see the train in town!

Nothing like a little cousin pile up on Aunt Shel very early in the morning!!!

Choo-Choo! Riding the Arcade and Attica train!

Cohen & I were co-engineers of the train! He worked the engine and I steered.

Peek-a-baby!

Apparently there is not enough room for both of them to fit out the window, but they sure did try!

Fun in the sandbox!

We got even more time together this weekend when we went to Papa's house. Papa showed us how to pick blackberries and we got to eat fresh veggies out of his garden!

My favorite veggie from Papa's garden was a huge zucchini that I brought home. I call him "Giant Pickle" just like in my Veggie Tales movie about Dave and the Giant Pickle. The Giant Pickle has gone out to the playground with me, watched movies and even took a bath with me!

On a Walk

We like to take walks as a family when the weather is nice. Usually Daddy will get home, we'll eat some dinner, and then head out for a walk. We mainly do it for Delia and Blossom, but Daddy always makes sure there is a playground en route for me and Teddy. These are some photos from one of our walks last week. I love to run and this was the perfect place to do it!!

Caught on Tape - Teddy Walking!!

Hi Folks! I promised some video of Teddy walking and here it is!! He's been up on his feet for 3 or 4 weeks now and is an ol' pro these days. He walks all over the house and yard. He is a bit wobbly sometimes, but he's gotten really good and falling on his tushy and not his face. He loves to take off down the driveway towards the road, so Mom Mom has to keep an eye on him. When she goes after him, he thinks she is playing chase and will laugh and try to walk faster...which usually leads to him falling on his tush.

This was taken just over a week ago at the PRC...

All Boys!!

It has been almost a month since I last posted a blog...I'm sorry! It was mainly due to the fact that Mom lost the camera battery charger and after two weeks, Daddy finally bought her a new one because she was so distraught about missing such precious "Kodak moments", especially now that Teddy is walking. Now, I have lots to share, so for today, let's catch you up with some photos and then maybe tomorrow, I'll post some videos of Teddy on the move.

We have had some fun memories over the last few weeks with my cousins Cohen and Cooper. With them around, we are four boys four years old and under!! We sure do keep busy!! Most recently, they stayed with us for a few days last week. Papa Peters came over on Friday for a bit of a "Father's Day" celebration and we did some fun things together.
Daddy took Cohen and Cooper on a fun tractor ride. Cohen got to drive and they were going all over the place!!

We all went for a walk down to the creek behind our house. Cohen pulled Teddy, Cooper and I in the tractor, with some help from Papa.

Here is Daddy and Teddy down by the creek. This would be a good time to mention just how much I love my Dad. Happy Father's Day Daddy!!
Cooper and I really enjoyed throwing the rocks down by the creek. Did you know that Cooper and Tyrus put together spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E? At least, that is what Mommy says.

Here is Cohen and Teddy with Papa talking a walk on the creek bed.

After our walk, we came back and had some yummy ice cream cake to celebrate Father's Day.

Earlier that day, Aunt Shel Shel and Mom Mom took all of us boys shopping and then over to the PRC at the library. We had a fun time playing togehter there. It was a good alternative to run some energy out of us boys with all the rainy weather we were having.

On Thursday night, we all went for a walk when Daddy got home from work. We took one of our favorite walks to the park in Riverside.

Earlier in the month, we went to Strong Musuem of Play with Cohen, Cooper, Aunt Shel Shel and Papa. There are some good photos from that day too that you can check out on my Cohen and Cooper's blog over at http://cohenquinn.blogspot.com.
That is all for now, but I'll work on some videos for tomorrow and I know I won't let this much time go between posts again! :-)
