Adirondacks 2010

You know that summer is fully underway (and half over) when we pack up and head to Eagle Bay for a week in the Adirondacks. This was our third year going up there with Grammie and staying next to the Peterson's (Uncle George & Aunt Lou Lou), along with the Sevilla's and Hyde's. It took me a while to get all these photos into a slideshow, but you've got to see the fun we had!! Enjoy! Sorry I can't write more, but I've got to get back to enjoying our summer. More pictures of what we are up to soon!

Make sure to close that annoying "Super Poke Friends" thing if it comes up so you can enjoy the comments on the photos. Just hit the "X" in the upper right corner.

"The Waterfall"

We've taken a few trips to the "waterfall" in Corning the past couple of weeks. It is a great place to go and cool off. Yeah, so, it isn't really a waterfall, but a fountain downtown in the park. On Sunday, we took a picnic dinner down there and met Grammie and Jenna. It was fun to have Daddy with us because he would swing us up really high into the water. Teddy thinks he is Ironman when he flies up like this.

Tyrus, flying high!

Denton, my BIG little brother!

Denton went for his two-month check up last week with Dr. Alexander and he weighed in at a whomping 14 lbs. 15 oz. That puts him above the 100th percentile...right off the charts! Mom looked back at the stats for me and Teddy to compare. I was 11 lbs. 12 oz. at 2 month old, and Teddy was 14 lbs.

So Denton is our younger brother, but he may not be our "little" brother!

Happy Birthday America!

The 4th of July is always a fun weekend to celebrate the birthday of America and enjoy the summertime! This 4th of July weekend was a bit different than I'd ever known. Usually Mom and Dad throw a big party and there is lots of family around, but this year was a bit quieter. We still had lots of fun though!

We kicked things off with a "Playground Grand Re-Opening Party" on Thursday. Since Daddy had already moved all the mulch, we just had some friends by to enjoy the cooler weather and completed playground. Our friends Sydney (with her Mom & Dad, Angie & Steve) and Tully (with his Mom & Dad, Sarah & Ed), along with Mark and Jim (guys Daddy works with) were all here.

Friday continued the fun with a visit from our friend Ava, with her parents, Brooke & Angelo, and new little sister, Alessia. We spent the day outside enjoying the beautiful weather.

Denton is only 12 days older than Alessia, but she is a little thing. She still weighs less than Denton did when he was born!

Saturday was spent up at the lake with our cousins, Cohen and Cooper. Mom got us all matching shirts to take some holiday family photos.

"On the Go"

If you know us at all, you know that we are always on the go. Last weekend was no exception. On Saturday, we headed south to Scranton, PA where Daddy's Aunt Sharon & Uncle Mike live, along with his cousins and their families. We were there for our second cousin, Kaitlin's graduation party. It was a hot day, but the heat didn't bother us! Teddy and I were on the run playing with other kids and chasing each other for 4 hours straight! Here is us with Kaitlin's brother Michael. He is a Yankee fan like us. It took about a hundred tries to get this photo where Teddy & I were finally both looking at the camera....and look! Michael has his eyes closed!

It was midnight before we got back home from our trip to Scranton. Mom Mom and Daddy put us up to bed, and were totally surprised when we didn't wake up until almost 9 AM! Mom Mom was already working on a big breakfast for her boys. With it being Father's Day, we wanted to show Daddy just how much we appreciate all his hard work for our family. We spent some time in the morning just cuddling, wrestling, giving him presents and making sure he felt our love. We didn't get to hang around home for too long though.

We left just before lunch to go visit Papa Peters and wish him a Happy Father's Day. We love playing at his house and watching baseball games together. But, we didn't even stay there for too long. Sunday was also my Gram Gram Peters' birthday! So, after visiting Papa for a while, we headed to "the lake" for a birthday dinner with Gram Gram, Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young and us!

The lake was a great end to a busy weekend. We enjoyed the water, ate some yummy steak dinner, spent some time with Gram Gram, and even had some time to watch Daddy do a bit of fishing.

Teddy likes to throw rocks in the water...or at Mom Mom and her camera!

Goofy Brother Teddy

Did you know that my brother Teddy can be a real goof sometimes? He makes us laugh everyday with his antics. Here are just a few photos to show you what I mean...

Sometimes he thinks he is a lion...
And sometimes he is a "Wild Thing" showing his terrible claws...

And he never wears his hats the right way...

And if he does, then he has a funny face on...

But me? I am the first born, so I like things just so. I tend to be in charge. Here you can see that I am the conductor of the Polar Express (a.k.a Grammy's dining room chairs lined up in a row). All aboard!

To catch you up on news, we had a GREAT Memorial Day weekend. This is sort of a backwards view of it since the pictures are not in order, but oh well! If I took time to fix it, this blog may never get posted! Sunday, Uncle Gary and Aunt Jane came for an overnight visit. Aunt Jane read us a bedtime story. Uncle Gary's big arms and deep voice made the perfect combination for Denton to enjoy a nap.

Saturday was spent at "the lake", my Great-Grandpa and Grandma's cottage, and one of our favorite places on Earth! Daddy had a lot of family in town, with his Aunt, Uncle and cousins from Scranton, PA and there families. That made for lots of people, lots of food and lots of fun!
The next phase of great-grandchildren for Grandpa & Grandma Young all are BOYS! Here is all of us lined up on the railroad ties...a bit of a tradition!

Cohen (5), Tyrus (3), Teddy (2), Dawson (1 1/2), Cooper (2 1/2)

This was Denton's first visit to the Lake! He wore his Penn State outfit just for the PA crew!

Nothing like a little foot massage from Great-Grandpa!

Playing in the water, running around with my cousins, being out in the sun...all require frequent hydration!

Here is my cousin, Cooper. He is a wild one and this photo seems to capture that spirit in him!

And, when the fun day comes to a close, there is one last thing to do. Go out on the dock with Daddy and Aunt Shel for a few casts in the sunset!

Denton at Home

I'm sure everyone is interested in some more photos of Denton. He is settling in well with us at home. He turned 4 weeks old yesterday and is growing like a weed! He is back at the doctor's next week and we are all interested to see how much he has grown.

Here is Denton taking his first real bath with Grammie Peterson. He wasn't so sure about this one, but has gotten more used to them now. This was actually a few weeks ago now, so even though he is filling out and round here, he is even more chunky now!

I'm really enjoying having a baby brother. I still like to hold him when I can, and if I can't, I always give him a kiss. Sometimes I can hold him AND give him a kiss!

All these warm temperatures had us looking for a way to cool off. For a few days, that meant water in a snow sled. Teddy and I enjoyed splashing around it in and playing with our trucks. Mom Mom and Dad did get us a new pool finally! Now we can really cool off! It even has a slide and a sprinkler! We are in and out of it so much that Mom gave up on trying to keep us in swimsuits and let us go in our birthday suits!

While we play outside, Denton usually takes a nap in the stroller. He loves the fresh air and seems to be comforted by the sounds of Teddy and I playing nearby.

So, life with Denton at home is good! Even though we haven't left home much, we've still stayed really busy. I guess that is just life with three boys!
