Adirondacks 2011

This was our 4th annual trip up to Eagle Bay during the last week of June with friends & family.  This year was great!  The boys were a year older and able to enjoy even more activities.  Denton stood up on his own and took his first step during our week there.  It was full of memories!

Our annual kickball game - Tyrus is trying to beat Daddy to the base!

Teddy RUN!!

Denton did not lack for attention all week...here he is with Sarah enjoying the kickball game from the sidelines.

The boys enjoyed the beach again this year.  This is surely Tyrus negotiating with me to stay "3 more minutes!"

How did Denton get that car on his head?

Ah, yes!  His brother Teddy did it!

Dave and I got a date night out thanks to Grammie and Shannon and enjoyed a nice dinner & sunset.

We had a week full of pirate activities - this was Tyrus's entry into the cake decorating contest!

And here was Teddy's!

We had a ride on the boat one evening....

...which was another pirate adventure for the boys.

We went up on one of the islands to search for those pirates!

Enchanted Forest was a lot of fun for the boys this year!  This is Tyrus doing his T-Rex impression.

Teddy in the Dwarf Car.

Tyrus & Teddy in the witch's stove.

Finally a chair big enough to share with pregnant Mom.

Denton & Uncle George on the Merry-Go-Round

Tyrus & Teddy's first ride on a Ferris Wheel

"Give us your happy face."

Another part of our Pirate Adventures was a Digital Scavenger Hunt.  Here are some highlights....

And we sported some of the cutest pirates at the Buchaneer Bash!!
Teddy, Sadie and Tyrus all ready for the bash!

Even Daddy made a good pirate!

We made ourselves some tie-dyed shirts which we showed off in our last pictures of the week, just before we loaded up to leave.

Can't wait until next year!!

Catching Up - July 2011

Many of our greatest summer memories each year are made at "the lake", which for our family is Dave's grandparents cottage on Demmons Pond in Howard, NY.  This spot was were Dave's great-grandfather built a cottage back in the 30s, where is Grandma grew up and even where she and Grandpa used to meet up in their younger years.  There is a lot of family history here as 4 generations have jumped, swam and played in these waters.

July 2nd - A perfect start to the holiday weekend...staying cool by the lake.

Teddy was our star swimmer this year.  He gained a lot of confidence with his swimmies.

Fishing was one of their favorite activities at the lake this year.

We were back to the lake on the 4th of July with the Peterson family.

Grandpa Young is sharing some of his vast knowledge with Denton.

A couple of weeks later, we were back with Aunt Shel, Cohen and Cooper.

Just a few of the crazy shots we got while trying to get the annual photo of the boys sitting on the railroad tie.

When all the crazy ones left, there was still a cutie sitting all by himself.

Back at home, the month of July was HOT for Mama!  Here is a shot of me 5 months pregnant and all dressed up in my Derby gear for a friend's baby shower.

Denton catching a little snooze on the hammock.  What a life!

The hot days made it great for some water play!

Denton loves his water table...a birthday gift from Grandma Betsy!  Here is the BEFORE...

...and here is AFTER.  He didn't even make it through lunch.

One highlight in July was the boys first camping experience in the backyard.  It started around 8:30 with a campfire, popcorn and juice.

And ended about 10 o'clock when Daddy brought in 2 tired boys who got spooked by the cat.

More July pictures in the next post from our vacation in the Adirondacks!  We are getting catch up!!

Denton's Scoot

Here is another post I started months ago at the request of Uncle Johnny who got such a kick out of watching Denton scoot around during his visit in June.  Here you go John, finally, right?

It has been fun to watch Denton's primary mode of transportation over the last several months. He doesn't crawl. He doesn't walk. He scoots...fast and furiously!

Catching Up: June 2011

This is what our June looked like this summer.  We kicked it off with an anniversary trip as a family to Niagara Falls, Canada.  Dave and I had done this trip on our 4th anniversary when Tyrus was 17 months and Teddy was 3 months old.  It was a bit different with three children and the boys being older.  Let's just say it was busy.  We did make some good memories though!

We had a great view of the Falls from our room that the boys marveled at!

The boys could even enjoy the view from the Jacuzzi tub!  A whole new bathtime experience!

One of the best parts of our trip was the day at Marineland.  Perfect weather and just up the boys alley with whales, dolphins and rides!

They had tons of great kids rides...this was their first ride of the day on the pirate ship!

Denton enjoyed people watching, walking around and napping.

The buluga whales were extremely friendly and curious to see people.

This putt-putt golf course in Niagara Falls surely caught our boys attention!!

Tyrus hugging a fuzzy dino!

Tyrus and Teddy are in the superhero phase and were SO excited to sit with Spiderman!!

And there is Mom and Dad, just so there is some record of us on our anniversary trip...and look, we are even smiling.

Father's Day 2011 - Daddy with His Boys

June 20th - We celebrated Grandma Betsy's birthday at the lake.  I love all my boys in their hats!

Grandma Young, me and Denton all enjoyed watching the water play from the new bench!

This summer the boys got their own fishing poles with lures without hooks to practice their casting.  They were amazingly good!  They would cast over and over and never got tangled with each other.

Teddy was "upgraded" to Tyrus' old two wheeler with training wheels this summer.  He felt like such a big boy!

We had lots of fun days and evening just hanging out as a family in the backyard.
