Merry Christmas to All!!

Hi Family and Friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did! It was three whole days of fun!

On Sunday, I went to my Uncle George and Aunt Laurie's house in Rochester for the Peterson family Christmas! My Grandma and Grandpa Peterson were there! My Uncle John, Aunt Christine, and cousins, Matt, Tim, Sarah and Sam were there! My Great-Aunt Jean was there! And of course, my cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were there because they live there! I had so much fun seeing everyone...it was hard to leave.

On Christmas Eve, I went with Dad to Grandpa Peters' in Canisteo in the morning. We hung out there until the afternoon so Mom could get some stuff done at home. When we got home, we quickly got ready for church. We met Aunt Shannon and Sadie there. I loved all the singing and clapping! After church, we all headed back to Canisteo to go to Uncle Dan and Aunt Sue's house where they had the Peters' family Christmas! I got to see lots of family, including my newest cousin, Coby Peters who is only 1 week old.

Today was Christmas! I wasn't too interested in opening presents up this morning. Mom opened up some new toys I got yesterday and I was much more interested in playing with those. My Grandma and Grandpa Peters came over around 10 AM. I got to see them for a while before I took my nap. When I woke up, my Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young were here too! I finally decided to open up some gifts and I got some great things! New toys, new clothes, new books! I can't wait to have more time to play with them all!

Thank you to everyone for making this such a special first Christmas! I love you!!

Exploring the Outdoors

Yesterday, Daddy bundled me all up and took me outside to explore! I got to wear my snow pants for the first time and really crawl around outside all on my own! Mom and Dad were worried about my hands getting cold, since my mittens weren't really made for crawling around, so they put my slipper boots on my hands!! Don't I look funny?!! Delia and Blossom were outside playing too. You can see them behind me where they were jumping and wrestling in the snow.

Here is me the other morning riding around on my little car. See all my teeth! I have 6 of them now, four on top and two on bottom!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post! Things have been really busy these past few weeks, lots of preparation for the holidays and with my new mobility, I am busy exploring the world!! Not only do I crawl all over, but I pull myself up on things and crusing around holding onto furniture. This opens up a whole new level of things for me to get into! I sure do keep Mom and Dad busy!

By now everyone should have gotten or will soon be getting our Christmas cards. Those pictures were such a fun day! Mommy bundled me up and took me outside where Dad had the dogs harnessed up to a sled. They pulled me around for a while and then Dad stopped them so we could take some photos. It was my first time playing out in the snow. The pictures are cute, but so is this video of my first sledding experience!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!

One of my favorite things to do these days is pull myself up holding onto the windowsill and looking out the window. The other day when I looked out there was white stuff all over the ground. Mom said it is called snow and that it can be lots of fun to play in.

Sometimes the blinds are down, but that doesn't stop me from taking a peek.

Second Thanksgiving in Arcade

On Friday, Dad took the day off of work and we went to visit my Aunt Michelle, Uncle Joe, cousin Cohen, and my new cousin, Cooper. Grandma & Grandpa Peters came too and we had a second Thanksgiving day feast. It was so fun to play with Cohen's toys, although he wasn't always so thrilled that I was playing with them. That is okay though, I would just move onto the next one.

Here is a photo of my Grandpa Peters with all his grandsons...me, Cohen and Cooper.

On Saturday, we went to Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young's house in Canisteo. There was lots of family visiting from Pennsylvania. There was my Great Aunt Sharon, Uncle Mike, Billy (Daddy's cousin) with his wife, Kathy and kids, Kaitlin and Michael. Plus Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Janine. You know I love a crowd and these were all new people to show off my tricks.

Here is a video Mom took of me last week jumping around in my crib. These are my daily exercises and I usually do them before I go to sleep and when I wake up. It really gets the blood flowing!!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Check out my Turkey Day shirt made by my Aunt Amy!

Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? I sure did!! Mom, Dad and I headed to my Aunt Jane & Uncle Gary's with the puppies on Wednesday night. We got there about 8:30, which is past my bedtime, but since I had slept most of the way there, Mom and Dad let me stay up for a while. Aunt Amy was there too! I got to show them all my new tricks! It was really great to see them since I hadn't seen them since this summer. The next day was Thanksgiving and my Grandma Peterson, Aunt Amanda and Scott all showed up to celebrate the holiday with us. We enjoyed the day watching old home movies and eating lots of yummy food. I was sad when we had to go, but hopefully I will see everyone again soon with Christmas coming up.

On Friday, we spent the day at home. We cooked our own Thanksgiving meal. Then on Saturday, we headed to Canisteo to make our rounds of visits. First, we stopped at Great-Grandma & Grandpa Young's house, and my Grandma Peters stopped over there to see me. None of them had seen me crawling yet, so they were very excited to watch me make my way around the house. I started to rock back and forth when I heard music, which prompted my Great-Grandpa to get out his guitar and play me some tunes. He even let me try to play a few notes.

Next, we went to visit Great-Grandma Peters. It was great to see her, but by the time I got there, I was so tired from all the playing with Grandma Betsy that I was kind of cranky and when Daddy picked me up in the rocking chair, it didn't take long before I was asleep. When I woke up, Mom and Dad were bundling me up again and we headed over to Grandpa Peters house. When Dad set me down in the kitchen, I immediately headed for the livingroom and all of Grandpa's different balls. I love balls and when I last visited, he had them in all different colors and sizes. There was a basketball, soccer ball, golf balls, foam balls!! I just love to play with them! We had dinner at Grandpa's and stayed for a while.

Sunday was just a day to rest up from the busy weekend we had! I got to spend a lot of time with my Daddy over the weekend. He quickly became my favorite person to go to. All in all, I thought Thanksgiving was lots of fun and I can't wait for next year!!

Oooh!! Some other big news from the weekend...I have a new cousin!! My Aunt Michelle gave birth to her second son, Cooper Michael Lyons on Wednesday afternoon. We get to go see him on Friday!!

New Bag of Tricks

I have got a whole bag of new tricks now!! I have now mastered the art of crawling. I am all over the place exploring everywhere I go. Not only that, but I can pull myself up to standing. I am standing up in my crib, on the side of my playbox, on the gate. I am seeing the world in a whole new way!! I am learning new stuff every day, especially this past week. I am starting to learn some of the sign language that Mom and Dad have been so diligently showing me. My Dad is so proud of me because this week, I finally got the idea of the "So Big" game. He says "So Big" and I raise my hands way up above my head and smile, then he claps for me and I clap too!! It is so fun!

I got to go to Rochester with my Mom this past weekend. She went out to a concert with Grandma and Aunt Lou Lou, so I got to stay with Aunt Jane, Aunt Amanda, and my cousins, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna. I got to show everyone all my new tricks! Aunt Jane and Aunt Amanda helped to put me to bed, which was a little weird for me because only Mom, Dad and Grandma have ever put me to bed. It was a little upseting at first, but Aunt Amanda picked me up to reassure me and rocked me to sleep.

I get to see her and Aunt Jane again on Thursday when I go to Syracuse for Thanksgiving. We are all going as a family, Mom, Dad, me and the doggies too! I will also get to see my Uncle Gary, Aunt Amy, Aunt Dottie, Scott and even Grandma Peterson will be there. I am really looking forward to my first Thanksgiving!!

Big Day...Crawling and First Official Word!!

I mentioned in my last post that one of my favorite new tricks is to shake my head back and forth when Mom or Dad says "No, no, no". Mom caught it on a video today! Today was a big day for me. I really caught on to this crawling stuff. It happened overnight!! Yesterday, I was only able to go a couple of crawls before landing on my belly, but today, I was all over the room!! I sure kept Mom busy as I began exploring all sorts of things, including the plant, VCR, lamp. Apparently there are a lot of things Mom doesn't want me to touch, because she kept saying "Tyrus NO!" which brought on some tears. I thought they might butter her up, but she stuck to her guns. I guess I am going to have to learn some new boundaries.

Last week, Mom had thought she might have caught my first word when the cat was up on the couch with us and it sounded like I said "kitty". She wasn't sure though, and she really wanted to make sure my first recorded word was a real word that I really understood the meaning of. Well, this morning, while watching my Baby Einstein video, I said "kitty" again and when Mom looked at the TV, they were showing a picture of a cat. She finally believes me that I said "kitty"...my official first word!

9 Month Doctor's Appointment

Today I went to see my doctor, Dr. Alexander with Mom and Dad. It was my 9-month check-up!! Can you believe I am 9 months already? Even scarier is that my next appointment is at 1 year old...and that is only 3 months away!! I got two shots today, but I am a tropper. I will admit that I cried out, but only for a second. As soon as Daddy scooped me up I was all better.

Here are all my new measurements...
Head: 47 cm (up from 45.5 cm at 6 months)
Length: 29 1/8 inches (up from 27 1/4 inches)
Weight: 19 lbs. 12 oz. (up from 17 lbs. 8 oz.)

Yep! I am a growing boy!! It was amazing to look back to see how much things had changed since I was last at the doctor's office at 6 months, such as...

Mommy's pregnant
I learned to sit up on my own
I got my first tooth
Stopped breastfeeding
Learned to drink out of a sippy cup
Feeding myself "puffs" (little bite size snacks)
Getting up on all fours...almost crawling!!

I have some funny new tricks that I have acquire this last week or so. One is to shake my head back and forth when Mom or Dad says "No, no, no" and shakes their head too. I like to mimic lots of things they do now, so they better start watching what they do :-)!! I am also clapping my hands together...all by myself!

Mover and Shaker

Hello everyone!! I don't have any new pictures on the computer yet that I can share, but I wanted to at least post some news. I am really getting around these days. No quite crawling, but through combinations of stretching, reaching, rolling, scooting, etc. I seem to be able to get around. Mom says I never seem to be quite where she left me. If something catches my eye, I have to go for it. I am really close to crawling though. I am up on all fours a lot lately, I just need to work on moving those feet out from under me and coordinating my hands and legs. Then Mom and Dad are in for it!!!

This past weekend, I went with Mom to her scrapbooking weekend on Keuka Lake. I got to see Grandma Peterson, Aunt Lou Lou, Aunt Kathy, Aunt Michelle and Aunt Shannon. I spent Friday night with the ladies and they all couldn't get enough of me. On Saturday afternoon, Dad came to get me so I could get some "boys time". He took care of me on Saturday night and Sunday morning so Mom could enjoy some more time scrapbooking. On Sunday, Mom's college friends, Angela and Frank stopped by for a few minutes on their way back to Baltimore from Rochester. They have a son named Colin who is 2 years old. We got to play together on the floor for a while which was fun. I can't wait to be able to move all around like he does.

Yesterday, Mom and I took a trip up to Rochester. We took Karlie and Jenna out to lunch and shopping for their birthdays. Then we spent some time at Aunt Lou Lou's, then headed to Grandma's for a nap. When I woke up, Brooke, my Mom's best friend was there. She stayed for quite a while so she could play with me. Her husband, Angelo stopped over too. So did Aunt Amy and Uncle George. I am always popular when I am in town!!

I'm a Lion...Hear Me Roar!!

Today was my first Halloween and I dressed up as a lion! We went to Canisteo this evening so we could stop in and see family. First, we went to Aunt Shannon's house where we had dinner and got in our costumes. I got to see Sadie dressed as Hannah Montana, and my cousin Chance who is 15 months old. He was dressed up as Eeyore. Then, we went to see Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young, Great-Grandma Peters and Grandpa Peters. Everyone thought I was pretty cute!!

Oh, some other news I forgot to report last week...I have my first tooth! One of my top front teeth has broken through. It is still small now, but keeps coming out more and more everyday! That is why I am sucking my lips in all these pictures...my gums have been pretty sore lately.

Surprise Shower for Auntie Michelle!

On Saturday, Mom, Dad and I made the long trip to Arcade, NY where my Aunt Michelle and Uncle Joe live. We were there to surprise my Aunt Michelle with a baby shower for her second son due in a few more weeks. I got to see Cohen, Grandpa Peters and Grandma Peters, plus meet all of Uncle Joe's family. Boy were they fun!! There was his sister, Jenny who I immediately liked and jumped into her arms. Then there were his parents who just thought I was a stitch. His Mom, Christine played with me for over an hour while I was in Cohen's activity center. Then there were Uncle Joe's neice, Sydney and nephew, Nate who I loved to watch running around and playing. My Aunt Michelle was very surprised and it was a great day with family! I can't wait to meet my new cousin!!

I went fishing and caught Jenny

Fall Fun!!

Almost a whole week has gone by since I last posted on the blog, so let me recap my week for you...

On Wednesday, Mom and I went to Canisteo for the day. We spent most of the day at Great-Grandpa and Grandma Young's house. Mom and Great-Grandma were working on a quilted tree skirt together. My Grandma Betsy came over for a while to play with me and keep me company while they worked. We had lots of fun playing with my new pumpkin that Grandma got for me!
Later in the day, Mom and I took a walk and visited Great-Grandma Tina and later, before we headed home, we stopped to see Grandpa Peters for a while. I showed him how I can roll the ball back to people now. He had a big soccer ball that was lots of fun to roll!!

On Friday, Mom went to get her hair cut, so I tagged along. We were there for a long time, but I was a good boy and played with my toys while I sat in my stroller. My new favorite thing to do with my toys in throw them on the ground. I like the sound it makes and it is fun watching everyone retrieve the things I drop. On the way home, we stopped by to see our friend, Tonia at work. Her dad gave me a truck toy that I just love to chomp on!

This weekend, Grandma Peterson and Jenna came to visit. They got her on Friday night and left this afternoon. It was so fun to have them here! I would get really excited when I saw Jenna because she would talk to me (and she can make sounds just like me!) and would play peek-a-boo! They watched me on Saturday night so that Mom and Dad could go out to dinner.

Today we spent some time outside because it was so beautiful!! I sat on the ground for a while and had fun picking up all the leaves and checking them out! I even got to go for a wagon ride with Jenna!!

Gotta Stay Warm!! - First Video Posting!!

As always, I had another fun weekend with Mom and Dad! On Friday, Dad came home from work early so that Mom could go get a massage. While she was gone, Dad and I were going to take the dogs for a walk. The temperature outside is getting colder these days, so Dad needed to buddle me up to stay warm. He did a good job of keeping me warm, but thought I looked so funny, that it was a picture-worthy moment! That night, Dad and I were playing on the floor and he taught me how to roll my baseball back to him. We were rolling it back and forth for quite a while!!

On Saturday afternoon, we took a trip to Sayre, PA to visit with some of Mommy's old classmates from Binghamton University. Tuan and his wife, Min hosted us at their new house and boy, was it HUGE!! It turned out to be a fun afternoon because I got to meet a new friend. His name is Caleb and he is almost 1 year old. His dad, Todd was one of Mom's group members at school. He could do a lot more than me, like crawl and wave goodbye, but I am sure I will be doing those things soon as well.

Where's your hair?!!

Today, Mom and I went to the mall. I haven't been there in a long time. It was pretty fun to watch all the people go by, but shopping can be pretty exhausting! When I got home, I took a long nap!

Dinner with Friends

Tonight was lots of fun because Mom and Dad had some friends over! It was Ed, Sarah and my friend, Tully, plus Tim and Tonia. They came over for dinner and we played on the floor! Tully is still keeping pace with me. He is about the same size even though he is 3 months younger. I tried to yell at him (since that is usually the volume that I do all my talking in), but he didn't say much back. I bet he will soon though!

Here are some photos from today....
This is me when I got stuck in my activity mat

Here is a rare photo of me and Mom together (Thanks for taking it Tonia!)

Mommy's Birthday Weekend & Some Big News

Yesterday was my Mommy's birthday! It was really a birthday weekend and was so much fun! On Friday, my Aunt Laurie (a.k.a Lou Lou) came down to see us. We all went out to lunch to celebrate both of their birthdays because Aunt Lou Lou's is tomorrow. I wore a special outfit just for her that my Grandma Peterson gave to me. It is my Syracuse Orangemen outfit and my Aunt Lou Lou is a big fan!
On both Saturday and Sunday, Daddy woke up early with me so that Mom could sleep in. We took an early morning walk on Saturday and on Sunday we went to get the newspaper and took a trip to Wal-Mart. I liked being up with just me and Dad!

On Sunday afternoon, Mom, Dad and I went to Cohocton Fall Foliage Festival with the doggies and walk around. Delia and Blossom were getting so much attention from all the people that Daddy was constantly mobbed like a celebrity! We then headed up to Stonybrook State Park where we met Grandma Peterson, Uncle George, Aunt Laurie, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna for a picnic. They all put it together just for Mommy! It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon and we ate good food, took a walk up the gorge and played on the playground. Here is me and Grandma on our hike in the gorge.

Today, I went to the doctor's with Mommy. Guess what? I think most of my blog readers already know this, but just in case, I have some big news to share!! I am going to have a baby brother or sister!! Mommy is pregnant again and is due at the end of April! I get to be a big brother at only 15 months old!

Fall??

Well, Mom says it is October and it is no longer Summer, but Fall. She says it is going to get colder out and the leaves will change color and then they will all fall to the ground. I don't know if I believe her yet though. It sure feels like it is still summer. It was 80 degrees today! The leaves are turning colors though and falling to the ground, so maybe this Fall-thing is really true.

This week has been fun so far. Mom and I rested up from our trip on Monday. On Tuesday, we went to Canisteo to visit family. Aunt Michelle and Cohen were visiting also. We met them at Grandma Peters' house for lunch and then went over to Grandpa's house for playtime and naptime. Right before dinner we went over to see my Great-Grandma Peters. We stopped to see Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young too, but they weren't home. I always have fun watching Cohen, even though I don't think he always likes me around since I steal some of the attention. I am sure as I get older and can play more with him, we will grow to be close!

With the nice weather, I have been getting out for walks. On Wednesday, it was Mom, Dad and the doggies. Tonight, I went with just Dad and the doggies, but Mom stayed home to do some cleaning. I like talking walks at night with Dad. The fresh air helps me sleep really good! I am a good sleeper anyways though. My routine lately is to go to bed around 8 PM, then I sleep until 7 or 7:30 AM. I usually get two naps in the daytime, one from around 11 o'clock to 12:30 or 1 PM. The other varies, but it usually falls somewhere between 3 and 4 o'clock. It takes lots of rest to grow as fast as I am!!

Albany Family Weekend

Mom, Dad and I traveled to Albany this past weekend to visit my Grandpa Peterson and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins that I hadn't met yet. We drove their on Saturday morning. Dad put in my big boy car seat that I got from Grandpa Peters, Aunt Michelle and Uncle Joe. It was cool because it sat up higher and I could see out the window better. The only bad part was that it doesn't recline as much as my other seat, so when I tried to take a nap, my head was falling all over the place. Mom and Dad felt bad, because it kept waking me up, so when we stopped for lunch, Dad ran into Wal-Mart and bought me a head cushion.
We got to Grandpa's around 3 o'clock. It wasn't long before we were back on the road again. This time we went to my Aunt Terry and Uncle George's house. Their house is the big gathering place when family comes into town. While there, I got to meet my Great-Aunt Jean, Great-Aunt Marge, and lots of cousins...Michael, Jennifer, Patrick, Peter. I was really tired during the whole visit since I didn't sleep well in the car, but I still had lots of smiles and talking for everyone. I wanted to make sure they fell in love with me like everyone else :-)!

With Aunt Terry and Great-Aunt Jean

Reading a magazine with Grandpa Peterson

We slept at Grandpa's house that night and hung out with him for some of the morning before heading home. It was another long day in the car. When we got home, my Grandma Peterson was here!! She had come to our house to doggie-sit while we were gone. It was so fun to see her! She just got back from a trip to Cape Cod and she had a few goodies waiting in my room for me...a stuffed lobster and some Halloween PJs. Thanks Grandma!!

The Great Outdoors

Hi Everyone! Is everyone enjoying these warm Indian-summer days we have had this week? I sure have!! Yesterday, Mom and I sat outside and played in the shady front yard for a while. I like playing with my toys and watching the cars go by. Then when Daddy got home, I went back outside on a walk with him and the doggies!
Do you think I can fit this in my mouth? I try to fit just about anything and everything in there these days. The nurses at the hosptial when I was born said I had big hands. They sure look big in this photo!! I use my hands a lot now. I am getting pretty strong and can pick lots of things up with them.
Today, there was a rainbow over our yard right after a quick thunderstorm! Isn't that cool?

Mom and I went out this afternoon and bought a new area rug for the livingroom. I like it because it gives me this big, comfy play space on the floor. I'll have to get some pictures for you soon. This last photo is of my getting ready to eat dinner. Aren't I getting big?!!

Night at Grandma's

On Friday, Mom and I went up to Rochester again. We had just gone on Monday, but we wanted to go spend some more time with everyone and Mom had a friend from college, Nicole, in town that she wanted to see. We got into town around 2:30 PM and stopped at Aunt Lou Lou and Uncle George's house. I got to play with Aunt Lou Lou, Karlie and Jenna for a while. My cousin Karlie just spend time with me. She carries me all around and even changes my stinky diapers! Here is a picture of us from Friday...
I am doing really good now with formula and my sippy cups. Sometimes people feed me, like this picture with my cousin, Jenna.

Other times, I feed myself...
After we left there, we went to Grandma's house and Nicole, Mom's friend came by. They visited for a while, but I was getting tired, so I took a nap. When I woke up, Grandma was home!! Plus, Uncle George had come over with the girls. Everyone ate some of Grandma's spaghetti dinner, except me of course. Then Mom left with Sarah and I got to stay with Grandma, in fact, I got to spend lots of time with her since we spent the night. The next morning, Grandma woke up early with me to let Mom sleep in a little. We played and ate and took a walk. It was lots of fun to stay at Grandma's!!

But, it was also fun to get home and see Daddy. Mom and I got home around 3 PM on Saturday so that we would have some time to see Daddy. When we got home, he was mowing the yard. I love to watch him go around and around. On Sunday, I got to go on a walk with Daddy and the dogs up on the state land, then we went to church and I fell asleep. In the afternoon, Mom and Dad were working on some projects and I wasn't feeling too well. I was really fussy, which isn't normal for me, but I am cutting some new teeth and it is enough pain to put anyone in a bad mood. No teeth yet, but they have to be coming soon! I'll let you know!!

Last Day of Summer

Well, summer is over and it sure did go fast! I had so many good times this summer!! It was the best. The whole summer was pretty busy and this week was no different. Mom and I went to Rochester on Monday. We went to visit Mom's old coworkers at Foster & Wager. They were all shocked at how much I had grown. Then we went to Uncle George & Aunt LuLu's house. Jenna and Karlie were home from school and they played with me while Mom went to the store. We really wanted to see Grandma since her birthday was the day before, so she came over after work and we got her flowers and a cookie cake! I got to hang out with my cousins and Grandma for the evening. It was lots of fun!

On Tuesday morning when I woke up, Daddy was home! He spent the whole day home with Mom and I because he missed us so much during his trip to NYC. I was so glad to see him! I am always glad to see Dad. When he gets home from work, he comes inside to see me and sometimes he takes me outside to get the mail with him. This was us the other day!

What else did we do this week? Let's see...we went shopping at Sam's and visited Daddy at work. Mom and I went for a walk and visited our friends, the Sauer's to see their new baby girl.

Now that I am 7 months old, I am figuring a lot of things out. I am not crawling yet, but I always seem to be able to get to the things I want. I scoot around on my back, or roll to try to reach things. I am sitting up really good on my own and I play with all sorts of toys now. Yep, I have to say...life is good!

Special Birthdays!

Hello Friends & Family! How is everyone doing? I am doing really well. I had a really good weekend. On Saturday, I spent the day home with Mom and Dad. We were outside for a bit while they worked to close up the pool for the season. I can't believe summer is already gone! It was a great summer for my first summer!!

Dad left early on Sunday morning with Grandpa Peters. They went to New York City for a couple of days to see a Mets game and a Yankees game. So, it has just been me, Mom and the doggies!! Yesterday, Mom and I went to Canisteo to see my Great-Grandpa Young who celebrated his 85th birthday. Yesterday was also my Grandma Peterson's birthday and we are heading to Rochester to see her today! Two of my favorite people in the whole wide world and they share the same birthdays!! So...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA & GREAT-GRANDPA!!!

Daddy should be home early tomorrow morning and he said he is spending the whole day with us. I can't wait to see him!! Well, I better get going. Time to get ready for our trip to Rochester!

Taking Care of Mom

Sorry I have been M.I.A for a few days, but I was busy taking care of my mommy. She got really sick on Tuesday with some sort of stomach thing. It got so bad that Dad and I took her to the emergency room and they made her stay at the hospital overnight. The doctors still aren't really sure what it was, but I am so glad she is feeling better. Grandma Peterson came down to help take care of me. Grandma and Daddy took really good care of me too, but I really missed my mom. It was hard to go to sleep on Tuesday night without her. She got home last night though, in time to put me to bed, and she was home with me all day today. It felt so good to have things back to normal, when I could be home with my Mom and my toys.

And since Mommy was sick and she was trying to wean me off breastfeeding anyway, she decided I could feed off her anymore. I am still a little upset about this whole decision. Instead, I have been getting formula in sippy cups. I guess I am starting to get used to it, but it would have been nice if they had consulted me about this decision!!

Messy Face!

Check out my messy face! This is what happens when Daddy feeds me dinner!! Well, it isn't really his fault though. I am always on the move these days, so I do make it hard sometimes to get that spoon in the right spot. I can't help it!! There are so many things to look at! I love being in my highchair because I get a bird's eye view of everything...the doggies running around, the cars going by, the leaves blowing in the trees. All that keeps my head moving during dinnertime.

Daddy has been feeding me a lot more lately. I have been learning to drink out of cups and taking more formula, instead of always feeding of Mommy. I am adjusting to the new eating well. I like the extra time with Daddy. This weekend, I got up early with him and Mom slept in while Dad and I played downstairs.

What else did I do this weekend? Well, Saturday we were all around the house for most of the day. We spent some time outside working on the lawn. On Saturday evening, we met Ed, Sarah and Tully out to dinner at Red Lobster. It was Tully's first time at a restaurant. He did really well, and so did I (of course)! On Sunday, we went to Canisteo to visit everyone. We saw my Great-Grandpa Young who is home from the hospital and doing a lot better. We also stopped at Grandpa Peters, and Aunt Shel and Cohen were there! Cohen was doing all sorts of things that made me laugh! Later on, we all went to Grandma Betsy's for dinner. By the end of the day, I was one tired boy!!

7 Months Old!!

Yesterday I turned 7 months old! Can you believe it? I know...I am growing up fast. That is what everyone says! I am learning all sorts of new tricks now. I can sit up on my own, at least for a little while before I topple over in one direction or another. I pick up everything with my hands. I like to bang whatever is in my hand against thing because it makes lots of noise. Making noise is a specialty of mine! I like to let out these high pitched screeches and yells, because it always gets a reaction. I also love to make raspberries with my mouth. I especially like it when I have lots of drool or food in my mouth. It can make a big mess!! Mom says I am all boy! Very active, very loud and already into banging this together!

I don't have any teeth yet, but supposedly I will get some soon. My gums do hurt a lot and sometimes it wakes me up at night. I usually sleep right through the night though, just like I have since I was 8 weeks old. Now I make use of all my crib and especially like to sleep on my side, curled up right next to the edge of my crib. It feels cozy that way.

Daddy's Home!!

My Daddy came home on Monday from his trip to Indiana. I didn't get to see him until 6:30 that evening though, because Mom and I had gone to Syracuse with Grandma for my Aunt Janice's retirement party. I hated not being here to welcome Dad home, but it was fun to see some family. My Uncle George, Aunt LuLu, Sarah, Karlie and Jenna were there. My Aunt Jane and Uncle Gary too! Most fun of all was to meet my cousin, Madison who is just a few months older than me.

It is so good to have Dad back home to wake me up in the mornings and throw me around when he gets home. Mom and I were missing him today when he was at work, so we went to see him and bring him some lunch. Some days, I wish he didn't have to work so he could stay home and be with me!

The Good and the Bad

The good news of the weekend is that my Grandma Peterson is here to see me and we are having so much fun. She came on Friday night and since then we have been on a walk, played lots of peekaboo, went on the swing, lots of my favorite things. She is a funny Grandma. She just giggles and laughs at everything I do, so of course I do all my funny tricks for her. And, she does all sorts of silly tricks too, to get me to laugh. We spend a lot of time laughing together and that is always fun.

The bad news is I miss my Daddy. He went to Indiana for the weekend to see Rich, Deb and the family and to do some hunting. He left on Friday morning and I am just missing him like crazy. I miss him coming home and throwing me up in the air and carrying me all around. I miss him being the first one to come in for me in the morning. I miss him taking me for walks with the doggies after dinner. Mom says he is coming home on Monday. It can't be soon enough.

Visit to Canisteo

Mom and I took a trip into Canisteo today. We went later in the afternoon and visited Great-Grandma Peters for a while. It is always good to see her. She gets a kick out of how fast I am growing and all the talking I do. Today I was blowing a lot of raspberries so she could see me. Then we went over to Grandpa Peters house. I had some dinner and got to jump around in the jumper that is over there (it used to be my cousin Cohen's). I was laughing and making Mom and Grandpa laugh right with me.

After that, Mom and I went over to Aunt Shannon's house for a scrapbooking thing (you know...Mom is really into that stuff!) There were other ladies there and they just all thought I was the cutest. I think they are right!!

Updates from Tyrus

Hi Friends and Family!! Sorry for the lack of postings to my blog lately. Life gets busy as you get older and at 6 1/2 months, I am a boy on the go!! So, let me update you a little...

Last week was lots of fun with our trip to Strong and lots of visitors! Daddy stayed home from work on Thursday to be with Mom and me. I love when he stays home from work!! I got to spend even more time with him on Friday night, because Mom went to a scrapbooking thing with Aunt Shannon. It was just me and Dad for the night! Daddy fed me dinner, played with me, took me out to the creek, and put me to bed. I didn't mind Mom being gone at all!

This weekend, we went to see my Great-Grandpa Young who has been in the hospital all week. He was so glad to see me! Great-Grandma Young and Grandma Betsy were there too. After we visited for a while, we went back to Grandma Betsy's house for dinner and Grandpa Peters stopped over. I was so glad he did, because I had time to play with him and show him how much I am growing!

Sunday was a day at home because Mom wasn't feeling good. She is still fighting this cold from last week. She isn't as much fun when she is sick, but I do like that she curls up and takes naps with me.

Oooh! I also wanted to send out some "Happy Birthday" wishes to some folks I love who had some birthdays recently....
Happy Birthday Uncle George!! (42 on August 22nd)
Happy Birthday Uncle Pete!! (60-something on August 23rd)
Happy Birthday Chance!! (Turned 1 on August 24th)

Strong Museum of Play

On Tuesday, my Aunt Michelle and cousin Cohen came to stay with us for a few days. When they got here, we went out in the rain to meet Daddy for lunch, then stopped at Wegman's and finally made it home for a big family nap by early afternoon. It was so much fun to have them here to play with me. I especially liked it when Cohen would run into the couch. It was so funny that I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Cohen, Aunt Michelle and Me

On Wednesday, my Aunt Beth came from Scranton, PA with her two girls, Lea and Maria. We all went up to Rochester to the Strong National Museum of Play. And that is what we did!!! We played and played and played!! My favorite part was when I met the Cookie Monster and Elmo in the gift shop. They were playing peekaboo with me!

Everyone came back to our house and we had a big sleepover, but they all had to go home this morning. I was sad to see everyone go, but the good thing was that Daddy stayed home with Mom and I so we could all enjoy the day together! We hung out at home just as our own little family.
