Big Day...Crawling and First Official Word!!

I mentioned in my last post that one of my favorite new tricks is to shake my head back and forth when Mom or Dad says "No, no, no". Mom caught it on a video today! Today was a big day for me. I really caught on to this crawling stuff. It happened overnight!! Yesterday, I was only able to go a couple of crawls before landing on my belly, but today, I was all over the room!! I sure kept Mom busy as I began exploring all sorts of things, including the plant, VCR, lamp. Apparently there are a lot of things Mom doesn't want me to touch, because she kept saying "Tyrus NO!" which brought on some tears. I thought they might butter her up, but she stuck to her guns. I guess I am going to have to learn some new boundaries.

Last week, Mom had thought she might have caught my first word when the cat was up on the couch with us and it sounded like I said "kitty". She wasn't sure though, and she really wanted to make sure my first recorded word was a real word that I really understood the meaning of. Well, this morning, while watching my Baby Einstein video, I said "kitty" again and when Mom looked at the TV, they were showing a picture of a cat. She finally believes me that I said "kitty"...my official first word!

Ty, you are SO CUTE. I just want to hug you and cuddle you but you are too much of a mover and a shaker so I dont think you would stand for that. Tell mommy I want some vids of you saying a word and crawling. I am so proud of you...I am sure it was scary making that first move!

How funny is your video Tyrus! I can't believe how much you are reacting to your environment. It was especially funny when you tipped over. You just rolled with it of course, you are such a tough little man. I miss you and I look forward to seeing you and your family at Thanksgiving!

Much love,

Amanda
