Getting in the Spirit

As December rolls in, we've been getting into the Christmas spirit. First, we were really excited when Mom put up the tree last week, even if it was just stood up and plugged in with no decorations until this weekend. Still, every morning, Teddy and I would come down and say "Look! It is a Christmas tree!" It is even more fun now that there are decorations on it, but Mom won't let us touch it much anymore.

Seeing the snow fall outside has also been very exciting for me these days. I think everyday that Santa is coming and can't wait until he does. Mom and Dad said that Christmas is a special time because we are celebrating Jesus' birthday. Along with getting gifts from Santa (a.k.a. St. Nicholas...we learned his story more this year too!), we get gifts for the people we love. On Friday, I went out shopping with Daddy and picked out a gift for Teddy. The waiting and not telling him what I bought part is a little hard for me. I'm just too excited!!

What else are we doing to get into the Christmas spirit? Well, we tried on some festive Santa hats and Mom tried to get a good photo of the three of us boys. Not an easy feat, and usually the outtakes are the best part.

We also have enjoyed getting treats in our Advent Calendar every night after dinner. This weekend we got reindeer headbands and blinking Rudolph noses. Teddy and I had tons of fun as Dad played "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" repeatedly as we ran around the kitchen table pretending we were reindeer.

Decorating, buying gifts, wearing festive gear...all wonderful things as we lead up to Christmas day!
And one more photo. This was from this morning. We had lent out our GeoTrax trains to our cousins, Cohen and Cooper for a while and now that we have them back, they are like brand new again. We've been playing with them all day! Don't you like our little set up here?

I love the reindeer noses and antlers. Oh what fun it is run. Tyrus and Teddy are really enjoying the Christmas spirit. What a wonderful age.
