Catching Up: May 2011

There is a new baby arriving to the Peters family within the next 3 weeks.  I know we've gotten very behind in our posting over this pregnancy, but I'm (and this is Danielle...Tyrus is somewhat retired for now) inspired to get everyone caught up before the new news & photos come.  A few photos of each month of our summer and we should be back on track!!

Teddy Baseball living up to his name.

Denton didn't start walking until August, so much of the summer was in a wagon or scooching on his butt.

Teddy was doing some potty training in May so he spent some pantless time outside.  Don't worry, he has undies on, a helmet for safety and a big heart as he pulls his brother around.

Memorial Day weekend at "the lake"...the water was really high and cold, but it didn't stop the kids from wanting to play.

Denton enjoyed some playtime with Grandma Peters.  I'm not sure who was amusing who more.

These photos were all from Denton's birthday on May 5th instead of the day of his party.  You can see this is pre-haircut.  What crazy hair he had!!  It was part of his personality.

Denton is constantly trying to "keep up" with his brothers.  Here is Grammie helping him ride the bike so he'd feel like a big boy like they are.

Teddy & Denton's Birthday

I started writing this post back in May. Here are some photos from Teddy's 3rd Birthday on April 12th and Denton's 1st Birthday on May 5th!!
He got this Iron Man gear first thing. Cutest Iron Man I've ever seen!

Denton loved when everyone sang to him!!
And he loved the cake!!
He wasn't sure quite what do to with the presents.
The Birthday Boy had a great day with family!

Tyrus Turns 4!

Last weekend was my 4th Birthday and it was a super fun day! The great day started when I woke up to find a bunch of balloons tied to a new T-Rex friend. It got even better when my family gave me the birthday gift I had asked for! A Toothless dragon from the "How to Train Your Dragon" movie!!

That afternoon, we met Grammie Peterson, Papa Peters, Gram Gram Peters, Uncle Joe, Aunt Shel, Cohen & Cooper at Friendly's for a little lunch and celebration. I loved getting a sundae with a candle on top! All the waitress, and much of the rest of the restaurant, sang "Happy Birthday" to me!

It was fun to celebrate with everyone and open all my presents! I got lots of new dinosaurs to play with, coloring pads, books, a new coat & snow pants!

Here is one of my new dinosaurs. I was really into playing with them, which might be why I ignored Mom trying to get my picture with Gram.

And the fun didn't end there!! After that, Gram Peters, Grammie Peterson and my whole family went over to Great-Grandpa & Grandma Young's house to visit. And SURPRISE!! Gram Peters had gotten me a cake so that I could have the full birthday experience. Of course, I was a good boy and didn't eat any cake until after I blew out my candles (please ignore the red frosting on my face).

It was a great day! I am a very blessed boy to have so many people who love me!

Christmas 2010 (a little late!)

We are already almost two weeks into 2011 and I'm finally getting this posted. I had some pictures uploaded weeks ago, but as is typically around here, got distracted and never got back to it. I'm sure you'll all interested in our Christmas. It was really exciting this year! Here is a rundown of our Christmas weekend!

Things kicked off on Thursday evening when we headed to Grammie's house for dinner and presents. She got Teddy and I Buzz Lightyear costumes! We immediately put them on. Teddy was serious about his Buzz business! After dinner, we all headed to church together and then back to our house for brownie sundaes!

Christmas Eve is where our Christmas plans started to unravel. Denton had gotten sick on Thursday, and by Friday it had moved to Teddy. He was really sick with the stomach bug, so our plans to travel to Canisteo as a family were cancelled. Instead, just Daddy and I went to deliver our gifts and see Gram Gram, Papa, Aunt Shel, Cohen & Cooper. It just wasn't the same without Mom, Teddy and Denton there, but we made the best of it.
By Christmas morning, Teddy was feeling better, but Mom Mom had caught the bug. We were up around 7 and eager to get downstairs to see what Santa had brought for us. We opened gifts and Dad had the fun job of getting all our new toys out of the crazy packaging!! My favorite gift was Boris the Tyrannosaurus. Teddy's favorite was his Buzz Lightyear. Later in the morning, Papa came and had breakfast with us. Mom went back to bed. Daddy was amazing! He did all the work all day long while Mom was feeling sick. Although it wasn't the Christmas we'd planned for, we still had a great day at home enjoying our new stuff and being together.

Sunday, everyone was feeling well enough to travel to Uncle George and Aunt Laurie's for the Peterson Christmas. We had lots of fun playing Just Dance 2 with our cousins, and got some more presents to open. Denton got some new gifts, but had just as much fun playing with the plastic cups. It was the perfect end to a Christmas weekend!

Getting in the Spirit

As December rolls in, we've been getting into the Christmas spirit. First, we were really excited when Mom put up the tree last week, even if it was just stood up and plugged in with no decorations until this weekend. Still, every morning, Teddy and I would come down and say "Look! It is a Christmas tree!" It is even more fun now that there are decorations on it, but Mom won't let us touch it much anymore.

Seeing the snow fall outside has also been very exciting for me these days. I think everyday that Santa is coming and can't wait until he does. Mom and Dad said that Christmas is a special time because we are celebrating Jesus' birthday. Along with getting gifts from Santa (a.k.a. St. Nicholas...we learned his story more this year too!), we get gifts for the people we love. On Friday, I went out shopping with Daddy and picked out a gift for Teddy. The waiting and not telling him what I bought part is a little hard for me. I'm just too excited!!

What else are we doing to get into the Christmas spirit? Well, we tried on some festive Santa hats and Mom tried to get a good photo of the three of us boys. Not an easy feat, and usually the outtakes are the best part.

We also have enjoyed getting treats in our Advent Calendar every night after dinner. This weekend we got reindeer headbands and blinking Rudolph noses. Teddy and I had tons of fun as Dad played "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" repeatedly as we ran around the kitchen table pretending we were reindeer.

Decorating, buying gifts, wearing festive gear...all wonderful things as we lead up to Christmas day!
And one more photo. This was from this morning. We had lent out our GeoTrax trains to our cousins, Cohen and Cooper for a while and now that we have them back, they are like brand new again. We've been playing with them all day! Don't you like our little set up here?
